Am I allowed to say anything when I see a scammer advertising a possible scam attempt?
There's a person selling their BP for paypal on outpost, who admits they don't have a rep thread, demands you go first, and has a scammer tag on steamrep (Valve Tradeban). I only found out they had a scammer tag because, like a smart trader, I don't consider any cash trades until I've checked their rep. I want to report them or comment or do something to keep them from scamming anyone, but I think my hands are tied because he hasn't done anything /yet/. Are they? I don't know how long ago he got tradebanned, but it's hard to believe he plans on actuallly giving whoever pays him the items if he -can't even trade-.

If they have an actual steam rep scammer tag I think they will also be banned from Outpost. You could always report them and worst case nothing happens to them (well worst case the mods get mad and punish you but I doubt that would happen unless you frequently make ridiculous reports.)

I could, but after reading about the sheer volume of reports the staff has to handle, I thought getting an opinion on it here might help, and if it's not something to report, maybe that'll dissuade some of the more energetic reporters ;)

just report them. It's stuff like this that SHOULD be reported. Not the crap like lowballs >,>

The amount of reports the staff gets is stupid. This one actually counts and this one has probably the best legitimate use of the report function. He is obviously tagged, he shouldn't even be able to be here anyways.
