Trading with a "Marked Scammer"...
Hey, i've posted a few discussions on here inquiring details on certain rules that im unsure of. Here's another one: A trader added me inquiring to sell me his Stormy Storm Brown Bomber for 5 buds, like always I check steamrep before doing any trades above 1 bud. Here's his steamrep: http://steamrep.com/profiles/76561198019641828 . He didn't technically "Scam" anyone but he is a marked scammer by the label on steamrep, so naturally I said "You're marked on Steamrep, I can't do business with you." He got very defensive and started throwing names at me which I just brushed off and told him I can't/will not trade with him. One of the reasons I denied it was because I always see people getting banned for trading with scammers. Can I get banned/ a warning if I did trade with this guy even though I knew he was a scammer?

Absolutely. Trading with scammers is an offense.

Thank you for the feedback. I told him I didn't want to get a warning/ban on my record, but he kept saying "I'm not a scammer I never scammed anyone, it's a website anyway who cares?" He ended up calling me a few names then removing me. Oh well.

You sholdn't exactly believe him....
you don't get marked as scammer on sourcerep without evidence, people screenshot their trades with such people, and that tends to be after the guys already scammed way through dozens or more people who didn't have the presence of mind to both screenshot and make a report on them. i've had scammers try me, i report them, look at their bp's and see unusuals, i then look at source rep threads and find someone lost that very unusual, sometimes their report is rejected because it doesn't have enough evidence, but its very clear how dirty that person is. if he's marked scammer he could be offloading his stolen goods on you, thats for sure. steam moves slow, so there might be a gap between reports and his trade ban, i've seen it take weeks before with blatant scammers.

@iQTest I never truly did but i'm saying that was what he was telling me. @MA yeah I usually do the same whenever it occurs (which is rare). Who knows, maybe he scammed the brown bomber from some poor guy and wanted to get rid of it.
