I have $4 on my steam wallet, what item/s should I buy that I can use for trading purposes?
I'm thinking about buying 4 backpack expander and then use those 4 backpacks to trade for keys and metal.

Is this a good idea? or is there something else that I can buy that is better than the backpack expander?

I wouldn't go with BP expanders unless you want to hold onto them for a while. So many on the market right now they will probably be hard to sell. I'd buy 4 gold paints (sell for 2.66 instead of 3 ref like all the paint traders) or 2 gift wraps.
