If he broke the rules, then he deserves to get banned. Shifting blame to other user does not make what he did any less wrong and they too should receive a ban if they deserve one, such as some random person with an "idiot list".
You yourself said he posted a "go back to kindergarten" insult, which got him a ban, and probably won't get overturned. That screenshot also doesn't help his case, he should have hid the post instead of insulting someone else, and should not threaten to use the report system for something so minor.
Firstly, bans mount up, and if he banned one more time he will be permabanned. And if you feel you ahve been wrongly accused, WHY should you not try and appeal it? That is after all, the whole point of the appeal system. I also stated that I tried to get this in time him but he went away, so I thought I MIGHT AS WELL post it. I WAS NOT posting his appeal for him.
Saying that he broke the rules, he deserves to get banned, is fair enough. But I have provided other evidence of people also breaking the rules, including myself, and not getting banned, where is the logic in that? Also as I said, the two examples seemed a lot more harsh than his insult. If one guy is going to get banned for telling someone to read, everyone should be banned.
The "idiot list" is merely something called EVIDENCE, showing that other people insult users and don't get banned, and in this community everyone should be treated equally.
And of course the screenshot helps his case! Thats the proof of what was said and that he was IMO he was wrongly banned.
Showing other people who have not been banned for doing things is not pointing out double standards, it's pointing out people lucky enough to not be caught yet. The mod staff is not omnipresent and you cannot expect them to be.
Your screenshot shows him insulting someone by telling them to learn to read and go back to kindergarten. He then got banned for insulting someone. your opinion of what is a viable insult or not doesn't go into the equation here. He insulted someone and got banned for it.
He should take this warning and use it to change his behavior and not insult people anymore, seeing as it's his last chance.
You saying "Lucky enough not to get caught yet" isn't really justiffiable, as I WAS caught for insulting, and I wasn't banned. And if one person breaks the rules and gets banned shouldn't everyone?
If you consider insulting a bannable offence, what about spamming? That also breaks the rules, and therefor masterchief should have been banned as well. The Admins need to lay down more rules as what you ban for and what you don't, the rules do not state that.
I think that me myself that everyone should be treated with equal respect in the TF2OP community, and banning one guy for insulting and just hiding another guys insult is NOT equal.
We can sit here and talk about ethics and trading site philosophy for hours, but at the end of the day, Your friend with the characters as letters name thing insulted someone else, and got banned.
I will agree with you though that all people should be the same and if you insulted someone, that you too should have got a ban.
So would you agree that there is something a tad wrong with the admin/banning system? Would you say that they need to lay down more rules at which someone gets banned?
And I am glad that you agree with me that everyone should be treated the same, and that I SHOULD had either of been banned OR Ŧнξ ρяø βυιᄂ∂єƦ comment should have been hidden.
Even if they have decided to become tighter against insults since the update, that should be stated in the sites rules, so that it was clear that if you told someone who had clearly not read your notes to learn to read and go back to kindergarten, it would be considered a bannable offence.
In the end, this "appeal" is less about actually getting unbanned, but more about the TF2outpost team improving there definition of a bannable offence.
