Steam Community Unusual market cleans duped hats
As everybody knows if they dont live under a rock we had the unusual quality enter the steam community market
in this thread i would like to take notes of the duped unusuals that are acquired through a purchase from the community market and if this is even possible

i had an experiment but i am not quite sure yet

i have bought a nuts n bolts sultans ceremonial duped for 6 keys and i try to sell it to my self to test my theory. it is proved that the hat was magically clean after the transaction.
the only downside is for you to clean the hat is to pay the valves fees.but thats not such big of a deal for a 14 euro hat ofcourse that doesnt stand for a burning tc since the fees would be releavent higher.

it seems that valve have decide to clean up the mess that have create by grunting duped items to victims of scamming by restoring the ids of every hat bought through the steam community market

please share your knowledge in this topic this might eventually change the way ppl think of duped hats. cheers

you dont get it huh the scammer get the original hat the victims get the dupe from valve support so i guess that wont backfire scammers have a profitable buisness either way

If someone has a duped unusual they could put it on market and then buy it on an alt account, this makes the unusual clean?

yes i did that and my hat was clean after that in most cases that work and most of the items comes in your inventory as you where the first owner maybe a glitch or maybe i was lucky,, either way i have applyied a question regardless that matter at valve support and i am pending for an final answer but its been a month without a reply.maybe if more ppl ask the same question they will come up with an official reply on that subject.

for helping in this cause open a ticket in valve support and ask what gurenty you wont buy a duped hat from tha community market i guess they will hae to come official at the very end

I don't know about dupes but I do know that purchasing something from the market won't reset its original ID. I somehow doubt that duped items make any difference.

That doesn't necessarily mean you're the first owner. Just that the person who you bought it from never used TF2OP, or nobody checked their backpack.
