The Phishers are getting startlingly bold.
So if I have a tab with outpost open without any interaction on the page for a few hours, I get these misspelt, obviously fake google chrome alerts, telling me stuff like I need to update java or something, and it has an 'ok' button and a red 'x' button to close out like everything else does.
When I click the red x, it redirects me from outpost to a fake java or google chrome site, where it wants you to download an update or something. From there I can close the page and open a new tab of Outpost no problem.

Now this doesn't sit right with me.

Why are phishers able to hit me with alerts directly off Outpost?
This seems like a big security flaw.

Can someone explain this to me?

Has this always been happening or is it something wrong on my end?

Am I at risk of account jacking?

These phishers have exploited such major security flaws in spite of their name, it's not even phishing anymore. The only way to be safe is to not log on until they are rounded up by the admins. I risked my account by logging on to post this. Even the U.S military have adware permanently latching onto their browser. Hide yo kids, hide wife, and hide yo husband cos they're phishing errbody out there.

stupid questions get stupid answers :)

u need to look into what phishing is :)
because this isnt phishing, so next time you post u should probably look into what describes ur issue the best :)

in any case how hard is it to not click a link, if u really have the earge to (because u are one of them omg i clicked something i dont understand people), use an online url scanner :)

anubis will tell u all u need to know about the link ;)

or u could live in panic and never click anything / turn ur internet off ;)

No, you are bringing forth obvious troll shit. So, yeah your comment is stupid.

They need to enforce some rule of having an account for x days, or you must own x games or x hours on TF2 or Dota 2. This is getting really bad. I've seen trades with at least 50% phishing links. Newer traders are falling for this and I've seen several of my own friends fall victim to a fake link on OP and lose Unusuals, then they get duped, and their price gets lowered all due to a greedy phisher. It's unfair.

Yep. Have you seen what i'm talking about though?

How does Outpost NOT have this problem taken care of?

It's unproffesional, and costing people greif, not to mention money.

Also, the fact that a price for pixels gets decreased because it was granted by steam support, makes me lose faith in humanity.

The fact people would pay copious amounts of money for purple pixels on an outdated game also makes me lose faith in humanity.

Some phishers are hijacked accounts or players gone rogue. Time/Item requirements would slow em down a bit but I doubt it'd ever stop them.

Because when we do, it will be for good. Opposed to the suggestions being made here and there about it.

Also, bad ads != phishing comments. Completely unrelated sources.

The comment made no sense.
What do you mean "for good" and "when" you do it? Why don't you guys do it? It couldin't be that hard. And the "completely unrelated sources", how can unrelated sources put shit on you guys'es website? If what you meant was they come from the ads, why don't you SCREEN the ads before you put them on your site? This honestly seems like amature stuff that can be taken care of easily. The phishing COMMENTS from jacked accounts, you can't fix that, that much is true. But the phishing popups? Those can be fixed.

I mean we are discussing it.

We don't run the ads, simple. We can't change them on request instantly.
The bad ads have been reported to the company behind them, that's all we can do.
