The end of phishing(?)
Good news for traders. Valve has implemented a feature that will probably protect your items from being stolen in case of a hijacking. More info here:

Now this feature won't prevent phishers from hijacking people but it is certainly a huge kick in the nuts as 99% of them do this to steal items and not the person's account.

This should work if people watch their accounts more closely for any unrecognized logins. Otherwise it will only delay the problem for 2 weeks.

Yes it would be pretty useless without those notifications but nonetheless it should minimize the phishing threat.

Wish they just update it to 5 days and no longer give hijacked accounts items back.
It's your fault if you can't correct the problem within 5 days

They don't give items back unless it's the first time it happened.

^ I meant not at all..even if it's your first time.
Actually, I'd rather have an option. I took all the necessary protection methods, it be really hard for someone to hijack my account so easily

Don't be so sure.

UPDATE: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/discussions/forum/1/864977563920604588/

Q: What happens if a user has a single device and formats it? Will they be trade restricted?

A: Nope, this will not trigger a restriction as long as the device was Steam Guarded for 15 days.

Q: What about web browsers and cookies? If I clear my cookies will I have a cooldown?

A: Nope, this will not trigger a restriction as long as the browser was Steam Guarded for 15 days.

If your ISP changes it could trigger the restriction, but that's an unlikely occurrence.
