It's time for an exodus to a far better reputation site.
SourceOP uses a monumentally outdated forum system for reputation. They also only allow reputation to be left for trades done through SourceOP. Since nearly all business is done through TF2 Outpost, this is a ludicrous rule to have.

Yes, 90% of us ignore this rule and post rep there anyways. But their mods are begining to crack down on it. My rep thread, with thousands of dollars of paypal reputation, was closed today. Don't let this happen to you. Cease and desist any usage of SourceOP reputation before you too are punished.

It is time we all moved to a far better reputation site. Skial[www.skial.com] is far more convenient, very easy to use, and does not have Orwellian mods like Butane breathing down your neck and penalizing you for not using their outdated and useless site.

So why wait until your thread is closed too? Start the exodus today. A future on skial is a brighter future.

Does Skial even have a rep thread section?

I agree wholeheartedly. It's dumb that people's livelihoods are relying un such an unreliable source of reputation.

can you leave comments with the rep because, scammers could just make alot of accounts and leave positive rep.

You know what other site has profiles for everyone where you can leave reputation, be it positive or negative?

Steam.

(Chances are that people will delete negative rep they get though.)

That's total bullshit that they'd close ur rep thread. Guess they want to drive people away from their site. Hardly anyone is able to make a sale on SOP; its forum model is outdated.

I just checked out Skial, and it doesn't even look like you can give a reason for the rep, other than leaving it on the profile comments. I did not see a specific section on the profile for money based rep comments, so how do I know what kind of trades the person has done? do I have to sift through their profile comment section to find those for rep? Is the rep limited to Paypal/Money transactions or can I leave rep because I traded a guy for a strange pistol? Seems kind of fishy to me.

There's an additional field where you say what you bought, and you must select if you "bought, sold, or traded" the item. This is drastically different from SourceOP, where you can leave +rep for whatever you want, as long as it happened on their site.

And people can't leave rep for whatever they want on there?
I saw severl I went first, +rep without saying what it was, though I do understand that is the stupididy of the commenter and can happen on SOP too.
My main question is, is their rep limited to $Money$ transactions?

No, it isn't, nor is it on SOP, Steam walls, or formerly outpost. There isn't a site like that. But if it's a money transaction, it's specified.

That is mainly what SOP is used for though. I don't have a single rep on my thread for anything other than Paypal, and I don't know that I have ever come across rep for regular trades.
Profile Rep is useless and stupid anyway, as was OutPost rep.

Big problem really is though that I already have all my rep on SOP, and like me I'm sure other people won't want to start over at a new site.

Also profiles like this: http://www.skial.com/members/hxcjedders.7818/#recentActivity , which is the first one I looked at. I see 381+, 30-, but can't tell what any of them are for, but maybe I just can't find the link on the page to the actuall rep feedback..
Heroic Potato 24 Oct, 2012 @ 6:31pm
I am using both of the sites but it would be great if they had a option to select whether the transaction was made with money or not.
