Upgrade to Premium Option ?
Talking with a friend, we thought of something.
Why is it forbidden to trade for accounts (see the rules), but there is an option Upgrade to Premium when we create a trade ?

I mean, if people can ask for an Upgrade, then it shouldn't be forbidden. And if it is forbidden, then this option shouldn't.

So yeah, if anyone can get me an explanation, it'll be great. Thanks in advance.

I think he means that he wants to uppgrade to a premium accout of tf2 but I'm not sure :3

I got TF2 before this f2p stuff. When you create a trade, go to the bottom, and you got a "Upgrade to Premium" button, just like a "Craft Hat" or "Money" button.
I say that because I had a trade going on about granting people a premium account, putting money on their own account. It got closed and I was banned because it was breaking the rule.
But if it is breaking the rule, why is there an "TF2 Upgrade to Premium" button when you create a new trade ?

The option I'm talking about:

Ok well that's new, whatever that is it doesn't mean you're allowed to trade for accounts. If Valve recently released a usable item that grants you Premium access then you're allowed to buy/sell it.

That's not new, it has been there for months. No items can be used to do that, and I've seen that since I'm on OP (few months), I guess it has been here for much longer.
I know the rules, I'm just asking why it's here if we do not have the right to do any kind of upgrade.

Still not sure where you got the idea that trading for accounts is allowed, especially when the rules specifically mention it's forbidden.

You're not answering my question. I do not say that trading account is allowed, I know that it is forbidden.
I just want to know why this option exists if it is useless.

If I knew that I would have started with that. My guess is that Valve put it in the item list but didn't release it yet. Updates often include new items that aren't available yet.

Even months before it happens ?

Hey there are other items that appear in the list but aren't in the game. Like "Voodoo-Cursed Item" or "Voodoo-Cursed Soul (Armory)".
BobDaSponge 9 Nov, 2012 @ 10:27am
I looked at every items in the misc section while creating a trade, and I can't find the one you're talking about.
BobDaSponge 9 Nov, 2012 @ 10:28am
Unless you talk about the bottom items, which are called Voodoo-Cursed, but they do exist ingame.

They don't exist ingame.

Well first, I don't even have them in my window. And second, I think they act like the "Strange Part" item, they're used to regroup all the items that are almost the same (again, like strange parts).
