Can there be an option to remove the "add on steam" button from our outpost trades, I know it wont stop the issue but it would reduce is and force illiterates to go through more steps for those if us who prefer trade offers to adds

The button is still there because removing it is not a solution, it would also mean hiding functionality from normal users. Captcha is yet again no solution.

You could make it an option wether or notthe button is on the users page, adding a captcha is still a good idea, it might not stop all phishers but it will hinder them and also prevent more unwanted friend adds.
I don't understand why outpost is not working with us on this, we can go to valve but phishers are still using outpost as a means to add and spam, meet us half-way on this.

You do need to accept the chat, I have gotten a pop-up for accepting a PM when in chat rooms. However its not overly effective and the phish-bots seem to work around it in many cases.

I hope if we keep reporting, they will make a public post of what they are doing about the issue.

While offline and at work today, I have received 3 phishing messages from random people who I have not on my friends list nor am I in any chatrooms (as I am offline and using the website on my phone) I will be submitting a report to steam when I get home.

When ever I bump my ads I get 1-2 friends adds - usually I ignore them as I have stated not to be added, but every now and then I accept (because usually if they are playing tf2 they do a fast trade) but in the last few days these random adds are leaving a phishing link.

Is anyone else getting this?

( I am reporting and blocking the offending profile, obiviously I am not clicking the link, but feel this will not solve the problem)

I am unsure if there is a script involved or how wide spread the issue is.

Needless to say the "News" is pretty much just "whats on sale"

its not that they dont understand its that they dont care and are lazy. I post dont random add me with a link to trade offers, I get tons of random adds. I post that I am not selling items not listed, I get offers for items not listed. Plain and Simple, people are lasy and dont care to read no matter how short and simple it is. I finally had to post several times in caps on each trade to not be added and for trade offers to be used before people actually got it :(
