Its not at all uncommon for sites to list important site related links at the bottom of each page. The same is done on every major TF2 trade related site.

To clarify, only trades you personally closed or have been closed for not being bumped in over a week (inactivity) may be reopened manually. Trades closed by staff members are only able to be reopened by staff members. However, a staff member will not reopen trades which were rightfully closed.

If you did not wish to have your trades closed, then you should not have violated our rules. I realize trading with scammers or their alternates accounts is sometimes a careless accident, but you still face the consequences of your actions.

Hello, Outpost is a third-party trading site and has no official affiliation with Steam. If you are experiencing any issues related to Steam, then you should file a support ticket with Steam Support.

Steam API is controlled by Steam, not TF2Outpost nor any other third-party entity. We also have no control nor jurisdiction over any issues pertaining to other Steam related sites. If you are having issues with CSGOlounge, then please bring the matter to their attention.

Since we have no ability to make the Steam API more reliable, I am locking this thread. You can attempt to file a Steam Support ticket asking them to make it better, but I doubt it is high on their priority list, nor is it the primary feature they allocate resources towards supporting.

Hello, my apologies for the delay. I was not aware of this discussion until I was notified by another Outpost staff member a few days ago. I have personally not used steamgifts.com and made my close reason based on the information supplied in the ticket filed against your trade. In retrospect, I should have checked if it was valid, and I apologize for any issues having your trade closed may have caused you.

I was waiting for a steamgifts.com moderating staff member to answer whether or not users are allowed to ask for trade feedback from trades which did not originate from threads posted on their site, but have yet to get a response. I have read their rules, guidelines, FAQs and anything else which may provide the answer to this question, but I could not find an answer which stated whether or not it was allowed.

If I am told it is allowed, then I will be happy to reopen the trade for you, if you would like, or you could simply make another one with the same formatting and link.

Again, my apologies for the potentially false closing of your trade and even more so for the extended period of time it has taken to handle this issue.

Every moderator interprets the rules differently when it is not explicitly stated. Of course, if it is a common issue, and there are varying results from moderator to moderator, then we will discuss the matter in private and decide on set course of action. I personally find idiot/moron counters rude, insulting, and down right unnecessary. In my experience of looking through countless outpost trades, these counters accomplish nothing. I find these counters in violation of these rules:

Main Rule #1: No spamming. This rule applies to both trade notes and offers, where spam is considered:
• Rudeness. Derogatory statements made regarding the value of the trade or listed prices.

Main Rule #2: No insults. We do not tolerate any kind of abusive language or general rude attitude towards any users.

My reasoning behind this is because if a user makes a legitimate offer on a trade, and then the trade owner increases the idiot/moron counter, then the trade owner has indirectly insulted the user and his offer. This is both in terms of the value of the item(s) offered and the user's intelligence. People are always going to make offers outside your personal guide lines for offers in the trade notes. This is not a violation of any rules, and having an idiot/moron counter is some people's way of trying to disrespect offers left on trades which they cannot report.

It is clearly stated on the FAQ Page[www.tf2outpost.com] a user cannot report offers he or she does not like or do not follow the preferred offers a user has outlined in his or her trade notes. Quote from the FAQ Page:

Someone didn't read my trade, and isn't offering to the standards I've set. Can I report them?

No, you may not. We don't take any action on posts that don't break our rules. If you don't like an offer somebody has made, then please just hide the post yourself. If the post is in violation of the rules, then you may use the report system to have a moderator deal with the matter.
