I would like to see the Steam Level next to the name. Can you imagine to get scammed by a level 30 account? I can not. Can you imagine to get scammed by a level 2 account? I can.

I think your timestamps are doing it wrong. Zerg himself, owner of the dead trade, already said in this very discussion that he didn't edit or care for the dead trade so whatever timestamp you saw can not be made by the trade owner. And if the time stamp is not influenced by the trade owner, what relevance does it have?

User online in Steam?
On TF2Outpost?
Visited his own trade?
Edited his own trade?
Last time there was Rule 34 on his Nickname?
When does it actually get set?
How about making the time stamp part of the web site? "This trade was created 6 months ago and visited by its owner 4 months ago" would be a good start.

Do not think I care much about a day of ban, seriously I think banning often but short never really hurts people. But if this is a bug it is worth hunting, isn't it? Even if the bug is more of a miscommunication.

logged into steam or logged in tf2o? Even if he logs in automatically sometimes, if he simply doesn't handle his deals for 7 months its still BS. And he is only an example, I think 10% of all trades on TF2O are dead and decomposing for many months.

it is a simply decision, if a trade shows no action from the owner for two months I could hide it. there seem to be some scripts which seem to be sanctioned by Sneeza so I am optimistic. especially the tremendous powerful search filters are tempting...

So it is ok to sell one key for "offers", ignore months of requests, go completely dark and let 180 days and 3000 requests pile up? Even when your are not owning a key to sell? The only thing required is to autostart steam on system start and ignore it? With your friend list full people can not even inform you about the problem.

If this is the conclusion of the rules: Fun shall commence. We already have 100 trades "selling keys for 8 refined and now a message... yadayada"...

Maybe you should just remove the report option "not for sale" because by your rules your users will never ever qualify for "not for sale" except for rare cases which are handled automated anyway?.

I want to look at an old question from a different angle: When to report "dead" trades?

look here: http://www.tf2outpost.com/user/8538 the trade owner is 100% dead for half a year. Never replies, never accepts, never hides, doesn't react if you add him. I must have run into his trades at least 50 times since I am on outpost. This sucks.

I ran into one dozend trades with the same problem just today. Some being not as long dead, "only" 2-5 months.

Quickbuyer Tags are denied most likely because no quickbuyer would set it correctly anyway. Face it, Quickbuying is like spamming, marking Spam as Spam by the spammer simply doesn't happen.

On the other hand, can we please have an option in the search to only display online players? Or at least players who have been online the last 24h at least once? At least that would remove all those "never online but autobumping for years" adverts.

Search should include three modes of filtering:

Option 1: 1 match anywhere - no matter how many search items, one left OR one right item must match for a trade to display

Option 2: 1 match left, 1 match right - no matter how many search items, one left AND one right item must match for a trade to display

Option 3: complete match - all items left AND right must have a match for a trade to display

The recent changes have removed the Option 2 in favor of Option 3. This requires to do multiple searches for some stuff, eg. I have a Salvaged Crate and want to sell it for Bills or keys or refined so I have to do three searches, one for Salvaged=>Bill, one for Salved=>Keys, one for Salvaged=>Refined.

If one puts up a decent trade and half a year later the trade looks like a quick sale you would like to have him banned? Seriously, you have issues.

About asking a moderator to close quick sale like deals: Absolutely yes!!!

I would also like moderators to close abandoned trades more aggressively.

But banning? Why? Those guys usually just get another account.

About something else, I have a couple of deals open buying Bills and Buds 10-20% below backpack prices. These DO work and people are actually thankful for getting to sell these in the middle of the night when in a hurry. Every trade below 50% of backpack prices though is bullshit and should be closed by a moderator.

(some prices at backpack and spreadsheet are pretty wrong anyway, I had no problem buying Crate #40 for 60% of backpack prices for a couple of days recently, also the retired hats, even vintage ones, DO sell at 30-50% of backpack prices - thanks I am no moderator or something like that, I wouldn't know how to handle this. Most likely I would simply ignore any quick sale which values less than a bill or are part of a temporal hype, its just peanuts and not worth the time unless someone comes crying.)
