I'm curious to know if there's an API for Outpost's data on users, for example the number of trades, posts, and hearts. Or, if not, is there any guidance on scraping user pages?

OK, it looks like the problem is two different things.

First, the request to http://www.tf2outpost.com/api/core/backpack takes over a minute. Second, when searching, the browser spends a LOT of time doing something with innerHTML.

So I guess the solution is twofold: Cache the schemas more aggressively, and improve the performance of searching.

I haven't actually looked at any of the JS used in searching, so I can't comment on its effectiveness in performance. I do know that there are efficient ways of doing operations like this, though.

So the biggest contributor is the JS?

I think Chrome has JS profiling tools, I'll play around with that a bit.
