Who judges what's reasonable? The market. People willing to part from their items for a certain price and others willing to pay a certain amount for them. It's a range that is ever changing and that many people try to guess (bp.tf) with little or high accuracy. And of course that prices lower or higher than bp.tf sell all the time, they're well within this range.

Now, say 90% of TF2 traders sell a BMOC for 12 keys, and you're one of those stuck in their little world that thinks they can get 20 keys for one, "all offers lower than 20 keys will be reported!!". You cannot apply the "people judging what's reasonable before an item sold" logic here since there's already a market for it that dictates the price. A reasonable range would be 11-13 keys or even 10-14, anything beyond that is safe to say that won't sell until the market heads in one direction or another.

PS) I agree that the rule is a bit ambiguous, it mentions that deragatory statements aren't allowed. Not all price checks are necessarily deragatory, some are just informative, so a little clarification on the rules page would be nice.

You are over estimating your influence. If I'm confident in myself you wouldn't ruin anything. If my prices are not unrealistic, I will find a buyer either way. It's people with unrealistic prices that fear for comments like that.

Yea he happened to post a phishing link on one of my trades and I reported it immediately. I also commented on one of your trades that you're hijacked to warn others not to trade with him.

This is the reason why we have people selling $5 games for $60 and reporting anyone dare they say anything regarding their pricing on their trade. It's not that people can't mind their own business but some stuff is just too ridiculous to let go without commenting or warning other users.

And your point is? If they don't "have to" then they should not? Why limit freedom of speech, I thought this was a free market.

Honestly the only people getting butthurt are those with unreasonable prices. Everyone else can get along just fine.

If you were to post on my trade in a respectful manner, I'd either agree or disagree with you otherwise I'd just hide your comment. If my prices are reasonable, a noob comment won't ruin anything and I'd still sell my item. Hence I wouldn't have to reopen any of them.

The only time you have to worry about noob comments and not selling your items is when your prices are outrageous, as in you know you're ripping off people but you're too afraid that somebody will uncover you, once your cover is blown you've no choice but to start off clean again and wait for your prey to bite. People commenting on such trades just want others to be aware, you reporting their comments is just taking away time from moderators when they could be doing something more useful, like handling the ever so increasing phishing reports.

As for my trades, did you know that market prices change over time? What was 10 Keys 2 weeks ago might be 8 Keys now or even 12. When you have loads of items you probably don't have the time and energy to keep up to date with everything. If anything a comment on my price being outdated would actually help me sell my items.

Remember if your prices are reasonable (can be above current market price, just not ridiculously high), you won't get spammed with many useless comments and certainly not to the point you're forced to recreate your trade.
