No, sorry I was describing how it should work not how it does. I always paste the url and need to strip it from the unessential parts, even a dash at the end can screw up the search results. My point is the url should be automatically stripped before the request is sent to the server.

Neither is a scam. What you just described is all part of trading, it's called persuasion. It's the main reason why prices change all the time.

That hat might have been valued at 3 ref at the time of your transaction but the fact that he was willing to part with it for 2 ref might mean that the hat is overvalued.

Offering someone way lower than the item's worth can be considered sharking. It's a scam when you deceive someone into believing that their item isn't worth all that much (aka lying) and taking advantage of their little experience.

For example you convince someone that their hat is worth 3 weapons but you'll give them 4 because you're such a nice guy.

tl;dr: lowballing != scamming

If you ask me, blocking them does not change much. I mean how many times did someone add you back after you deleted them? If you block them on OP do you think that will change their behaviour? Sure you're not gonna have to deal with them again but that didn't really solve anything.

Perhaps just telling them that what they're doing is wrong and they should be careful who they add next time is a better idea. Eventually they'll get the point.

If it's not a problem with your browser or computer then it is definitely a TF2Outpost bug. Someone already reported something similar.

There is no advice that will make dumb people be less dumb than they already are. It might be obvious to you but there people out there who aren't aware of that yet they still complain. There is no solution to human stupidity, all you can do is minimize the problem for yourself and the advice in this thread is pretty much all you can do about it.

Autobumping out of stock trades is against the rules. If you don't bump them you're less likely to get added.

Keeping your notes short and clear (without tons of empty lines between text, fancy characters, rules all over the place) is the best way to keep adds to a minimum. There will always be someone who adds you without reading but you cannot change that.

Unless specifically stated, any tradable item or game is allowed to be traded on the site. It doesn't matter if it was free or not. Now if they were asking above $30 or something unrealistic for an invite, that's another story, and you can report the trade for trolling or sharking attempt.

Just for the record, Dota 2 is not a F2P game (yet). It's still in beta and requires an invite to play, hence why these invites still hold some value although close to nothing.

Glad to see you got your account back but you need to login to TF2Outpost and appeal there, this isn't the place to post such a request.
