While I can't say for sure, a good rule of thumb is if you have to ask, it probably is.

To search, you'll need to enter part of the name of whatever you're searching for and then hit enter. A list then comes up with all of the items that have whatever you typed in the name.

In your case, you'll also have to change the parameters from TF2 items to steam items, which is found in a little dropdown next to the place you'd enter the text.

The change was done because it's less taxing on the system than loading all the items at once when people usually have something in mind when searching.

Because there is no way to trade it currently, the item was more than likely disabled until it becomes tradable.

This is to avoid bloating the site with useless trades on items that cannot be traded, such as what happened when the tuxes and robot chicken hats came out.

It was intentional. Banned users such as scammers can not sign in and cannot use the search feature and find new targets. Using alt accounts also triggers the system and helps ban those as well.

About halfway down in this topic, Sneeza says himself this is the case, and many agree with it.

I'm going to say that the donation system being down is going to be a bigger hurdle at the moment than not having a paypal account.

up until it was taken down, it was $1 USD in paypal or a single TF2 key for the first rank of donator status.
