I guarantee that you do not know the price to run this site and more than likely have no clue what it takes to maintain a site that regularly sees users in the 6 digit range.

The premium features are not mandatory and are not even close to required if you want to use the site, which is otherwise free. If you don't find the value of paying for it, then you're more than free to continue using the site without those benefits.

Also, Backpack.tf is not close to a viable alternative to Outpost for trading, as the two sites have different goals in mind. The premium feature is new and has rustles some feathers, but just complaining and not giving constructive feedback helps nobody.

You seem to have broken many rules here and claim that the mod is at fault.

There is no rule that allows trades that offer services, the rules specifically say do not open trades that are not trades.

Soliciting your service in other people's trades is also unwanted and against the rules.

And lastly, using the forums to appeal bans is not allowed, only use the site's appeal system for that. If the mod denies the appeal, that ruling is final.

It is already against the rules to create misleading trades.

Please report trades that do so.

To add to noodles examples, the same is also somewhat commonly applied to keys, even though refined metal does not craft into them.

Use the current conversion rate (currently about 6 refined to a key) to figure the decimals.

From a curiosity point of view, do you have any experience with building a community or something similar? Not to be pessimistic, but that list of what you want in there is quite ambitious, and maybe a little too much so if trying to start fresh.

Most communities thrive because they are the best at what they do. Trying to do to much might make what you intend to focus on not come through, but if you can find what you believe is lacking in the already vast TF2 market, you could get a huge hit.

Well only one of those trades apply here to that price manipulation point.

Two of those only have keys and metal in the trade slots, with no notes about lowering key prices for everyone, only that they themselves would pay that much. And they were both made more than 9 months ago, when keys could fetch that type of price.

I understand what you mean when you say that key activism trades need to be stopped, but there is a difference and not all bad key trades are made equal. You'll want to look for trades as described here:

Very true, though I like to avoid doing any trades with real money. It's a good alternative though if you're into that.

From what I've found, it's almost always cheaper to get whatever games you want with keys, regardless of it being a sale or not.

The most recent example I can think up for me would be saints row 4, which I was able to get a preorder for myself and a friend for 34 keys after a very brief search. At $2.50 per key, it was a savings of $15, and more than that if the marketplace is taken into account.

Best advice I can tell you is to find someone selling what you want for an amount of keys you want to pay, then purchase the keys to go for it. Only buy the game directly if there are no sellers on the market and the game is about to go off sale.

Nobody here is trying to police prices. You're free to ask for whatever you want. It's when you attempt to rally others to try and induce an artificial shift to the common price range that a problem occurs.

Feel free to reopen the trade, just leave out the whole activism part (Help make the price lower, share with your friends) and you'll not have a single problem.
