I blame key prices and Obama.

They implemented this a little while back. The only problem is if the trade is old and the phiser got banned before the implementation it will still show up like it used to. It likely to become less and less of an issue once the old trades are closed.

That was cool, been wondering how all the unusual effects translate to that platform. Looks better than I expected!

Honestly I think one of the reasons I gravitate to Outpost is not only the features and high user base, but the freedom I have to post about my trade. I also think that despite the some of the negative things people post in trades (ie: spamming comments, off topic comments) it creates a community where there usually isn't one and gives a little life to the site. Some of the new rules can easily be more regulated by creating a form that has character limits, filtering out certain words from being displayed if posted, not allowing BBCode, not allowing pictures to be posted, and not allowing url's. After all that the site is highly regulated automatically but it loses that freedom and feel of a community.

The site has given the user's the ability to block out what they don't want to see, to not click what they don't want to click, to report abusive/offensive things, and to hide things they disagree with. It creates empowered users instead of babysitters and its better direction in my opinion.

No its a good question. Rarity and value don't always coincide because you have to have demand for the specific item. For example there are items that there are just 1 of like the Vintage Guadalahara but it will likely never see the light of day so who knows what it could go for. Then you have items like the Burning Team Captain that there are 5 of and is valued at 100+ Buds. Lastly you have items like the Strange Part: Robots Killed During Halloween. Only 77 exist that aren't attached to a weapon and it only goes for 4-keys.

Its is definitely rare but far from the most rare. There are 67 in the wild according to this http://stats.tf/item/169/The_Golden_Wrench I would wager it would be in the 10-15 bud range just off the top of my head. Possibly more though, I mean the damn thing turns you into a gold statue when you are killed by it!

I'm not trying to be a pain and I'm not going to make an idle threat about leaving the site. Its an awesome site and trading would be a lot harder without it, but I think the rules here are getting a bit too extensive. Less is better when it comes to rules and easier for the masses to naturally comply with. If people are naturally complying then it requires less administration. A win-win for everyone.

I love the freedom I have to post what my trade is all about and up until now put in my low value unusual trades my affiliate links to hexide and tf2shop. I thought this was a smart way to show a new trader that the unusual they want is more obtainable then they expected while making a few pennies off the referral. Now I can understand prohibiting the use of affiliate links and shortened links, but it would be nice to be able to direct people to useful sites like that (even with the non-affiliate link). It helps everyone be a more knowledgeable trader and brings more people into trading for higher value items.

I'm not sure what prompted the rule changes and I'm sure there is an excellent reason. I just really think you can only protect people so much and if the link I post is related to the trade in some way and the location of the link is clear it shouldn't be a problem. I'm also not sure how moderated this will be so I may be over reacting. Just wanted to put my thoughts out there and see what other people think.
