Phishing "Reduction" Making My Trading Harder. Do You Feel the Same?
First discussion here so probably poorly done.
Phishers just got alot smarter since the counter measures made. True I am recieving less adds from them but now there is no way to tell a phisher before they send the link.
Now I've seen phishers adding me while in team fortress 2. Before this they only sent invites while online but not in game.
They don't add after bumps anymore, they add seemingly randomly. I recieved adds anywhere from just after to 50 minutes after a bump.
Fewer of them have private profiles, many even have steam levels upwards of 10 and an inventory of items, probably because these are hijacked profiles, but there's more of 'em (probably people reading "reduced phishing" as "complete removal of phishing".)
They don't respond instantly after I accept the add, some even wait for my response then take time to type their phishing message, but they're still bots.
No longer are the fake steam errors a common thing with their freinds, although they still mess up the messages. "i am interested in ur items and have keys trade! -phishing link-" Despite my lack of items worth keys being sold in trades, In fact I tend to take offers rather than have a solid price.
Now why did I open this discussion? Just to ask the real steam community (not the stearm communiuty) wether they're having similar problems. It's not the number, it's the AI. Personally I don't care, just block remove report and they'll never bother you again. On top of this I only get 2 a day in comparison to the old 20. At least 6 of them in a week use the old after bump private profile insta-reaction method. Also feel free to make jokes about phishing, that'll probably help. :demoticon: C.Sandwich
