I can't agree more. I know this first hand when he came to my trade uninvited to comment about how serious an offence it is to create a trade that sells keys for 10 ref. i mean how many times have we seen people selling their silly 'sets' or farmed weapons for buds over value? IMO joke threads are fine as long as you don't autobump them to spam the thread or actually attempt to scam people by making fake adds.

oh yeah, not to mention my current favourite, these (insert item, usually festives) are no longer available/are very rare, only X number available..therefore they must be worth 1 bud!!

All the clean hats are way cheaper than the store too.

true but some of the dirty alternatives are pointlessly dirt cheap. even if newcomers wanted to start trading they would first buy keys from the mann co store. therefore higher trading prices = more keys sold. regardless of the price difference between store and trade.

I believe that valve should've retroactively made all uncraft hats clean since this will actually promote buying from the store as there will no longer be any cheaper/dirtier alternatives. Personally i'm not complaining cause i'm still starting my collection of dirty hats.
