Re: Banned for Private Profile
Please, I am BEGGING you to read the initial post. Signed has been blocked, ignored, and reported accordingly. That entire section of the thread is completely irrelevant to my point. Now if YOU would like to read, perhaps we can get some kind of understanding going.

There is nothing derogatory or insulting in the original post. It won't even take 3 minutes to read the initial post, I promise. Furthermore, I provide a lot of crucial points.

I had my profile on private for not even an hour, my profile was PUBLIC when I offered in the trade. In fact, it has to be in order to post. I was reported and banned before I even realized what happened. Where's the justice? You don't know the conditions, so don't lash your tongue at me.

grow some patience and wait for your turn.

I don't mind waiting my "turn". However, I do find a week to be unacceptable progress. I genuinely feel sorry for the people who have to sit and wait months, that's just carelessness. This paragraph is the entire point of my argument. You can say they work hard, and I've even been told there's divisions mods are assigned to, but clearly somebody isn't doing their job. Do not defend that person. It is disrespectful to me, and everybody else who is sitting in line. I've gotten better service from the DMV.

To repetition what I have just said; just because you broke a minor rule and faced consequences doesn't entitle you to a dispensation,

If the ban had been timed instead of permanent, I wouldn't even be here right now. The fact that I have to wait on somebody to unban me at their leisure because of a private profile is unacceptable. Even more so when the "at their leisure" is followed by a title card saying "To be continued". Nobody is trying to cut in line, I'm just trying to get the line to actually move.

being rude and calling users "close-minded" is insulting and can further more increase your chances at a plausible ban

Closed-minded is an insult? The man jumped in this thread without reading anything but the title. I blocked him, and I ignored his posts. I'd hate to actually be banned for that, given the level of maturity and overall lack of interest in pursuing a one-sided fight, but I wouldn't be surprised.

and you can't force the staff to put more hours in, they're already generous with the amount they put in Outpost.

If you however want to make a more formal and serious suggestion, i'd recommend starting at the right sub-forum, https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/groups/tf2outpost/discussions/6/

If people are waiting months to get unbanned, somebody is putting NO hours in. And yet... the people in the banning division are certainly on the ball, aren't they?

Anyways, to wrap this up, yeah I'll probably visit that sub-forum. I might as well visit the mod application one, too. I'd have more done in a day than they've done all year.
Reviving topic since the last thread was ended rudely.

You don't get to cut the line because your ban is easier to lift.

You broke a rule and was penalized for it. It has always been like this, and private profiles/inventories have always been against the rules and generated permanent bans. It's been this way for 4 years now...

Each staff is assigned to a different department. Some do bans, some do appeals. There are no crossovers. And handling ban appeals takes more time than issuing bans. Our priority will always be those who follow the rules (by also protecting them from those who don't), not those who break them.

I was speaking for everybody when I said that the priority level for appeals needs to rise in the priority list. I refuse to be talked down to like a criminal, because I had my profile on private for a brief time. I fixed it, and I wrote in the appeal every day this past week letting them know.

Clearly not enough, and I sure hope this is volunteer work and people aren't actually getting paid to do this. There cannot be that many banned people, and if there are:

if they weren't PERMANENTLY BANNING people for silly things like private profiles, that'd probably ease the load.

There ARE people that deserve it. There ARE scammers and trolls who are looking for trouble. That is not me, and I am pretty sure it isn't the numerous other people who are banned for the same reason. Not ONLY am I denied the service, but that heavily impacts my ability to trade, as well as receive offers. People are not only afraid of trading with a banned user, but are threatened by the site for doing it. I don't deserve to be treated like the plague for having a private profile. That applies to everybody, ESPECIALLY the ones waiting months for their appeal to get looked at. Completely unacceptable.
