Ahh, the regrets.
But that is quite wonderful, I love those weapons you pick up early and are your go-to for half of your time playing.. There's a certain relationship you build with a shiny pistol that can't be rivalled by any other, really. :P
How are you liking Torchlight I?
The unique weapon is a rifle and I've created a vanquisher to use it. Doing very hard mode and it's too easy to kill and to get killed ^^ Check out the rifle. Btw, notice the level 16!... I did over 2k damage with critical hit on normal attack at lvl 16. Imagine critical hit on the skills, at the moment she can use the Explosive Shot and deal over 4k to all monsters within 5.5m radius at level 19, on the other hand, any dark zealot can kill her in one lightning beam... not so good
Next up is a Destroyer with the treasure skill, so that I can find more armour and resistance to my other characters >_< All I got is damage and no durability. Those dark zealots gets them everytime. A dark zealot crits on my characters over 1500 damage, despite having 200+ resistance.
Level 16?!?! Geezus!!!! That is a ridiculous amount of damage, nothing's gunna be able to stand up to it till the end-game.. and even then it'll be pretty darn decent!
Try doing up your armour or lightning resistance if they're giving you a lot of trouble! I've found that you can't put enough value on a good chest piece with some decent armour and a resistance or two - that little bit of survivability can make it a whole 2 lightning strikes!!! ;)
My shiny gold pistol, with a similar DPS, was enchanted into nothing-ness by the useless bugger!!! But hey, it doesn't stop us trusting him with our shiny weaponry... Scary stuff.
I really do need some more impressive gems. I've only ever built a couple of good fire damage gems, even then it's only +16.. Ah well, it's all part of the learning curve. :P
How is the game treating you, other than making you markedly more powerful than you should be?
However here you got my Vanquisher at the end waypoint I think The key is to put lots of stat points into Defense, and focus on resistance against lightning / poison. Very important with Block chance too. None of this is what i did tho lol! Result is 45 deaths. The Dark Zealots could kill me in one single shot. Imagine a room packed with them!!! >_> Could take me 4 deaths to pass a single zealot because it got a critical hit 3 times in row.
Having high damage doesnt help you if you cannot survive when they shoot lightning beams that are instant, you get no warnings or anything before they strike. Oooor if you are new I'd recommend treasure hunting skill! Even tho I had all items (lvl20-30)Unique it wasnt enough for Very Hard. Need alot better gear and MORE GOLD for enchanting!
Anyway.... the conclusion, I did not find enough shiny things :<
You just need shinier armour with more +health :P
But she is quite cool indeed. You best be hoping that you can port her into Torchlight II for a giggle ;) Cause, let's face it, that would be pretty damn cool.
2 weeks to go!
I'll admit.. I've been playing far too much DEFCON and (now that it was on sale) Half Life 2 recently... perhaps I should grind a few levels while I'm at course tomorrow. ;)
Thanks for your constant input :3

It was rather easy to use it soon in the new playthrought...
nope. it's a joke weapon, officially available in the game. the special "stats" there have no effect.
Sorry, my torchlight playing has been limited recently.... Real Life is far too much of a bother some times! Here's hoping for some time hunting shiny things soon, after these next exams have been and gone...
