first impressions everyone?
I played single player for a few hours (the web site was down so I couldn't create a runic account). I played a outlander and I enjoyed it (considering one of the classes I finished TL1 with was the Vanq). I was going to play an embermage but I thought the official description was quite misleading as they are not nearly as "warrior-like" as the runic web page said they were so I was disappointed there. I also played on veteran, the same I did in TL1. I wanted to balance enjoyment with difficulty and for me that is a perfect fit. Elite is a bit too much.

When I am ready for multiplayer I will start adding people and hopefully can get in some good grouping.

Have fun! Oh and if you are having trouble with Steam saying the game is still in the pre-load stage re-start Steam. That worked for me.

Torchlight 2 is great! My computer is able to run it without much trouble at least and it's very fun as an Outlander on Veteran. :3

Cruising through Normal mode with my engineer, Locke, & pet ferret, Gear, atm. I get a bit of lag when hordes bunch up all at once, but with lots of points in flame hammer they never last long :D. Going to have to replay to try other classes and difficulties, but atm its been great so far!

Veteran difficulty is perfectly challenging for me, though in TL2 you GOT TO REMEMBER to buy healing potions.. they dont drop as much

Im in love with Tl2 :) haha

Game is fantastic. I was playing 10 hours and I'm already torchlight addict -.-' . Bad thing is graphics a little bit childish :( but it's not a problem.

My char. 38 lvl and I'm at act 3.

I'm pleased, although I played the Beta and I was really liking it then, too. They do need to straighten out the Server and Friend finding features though. That's why it's great they included SINGLE PLAYER! That's probably what I'll stick with until they get a fix for the Friend feature in TL2.

So I've had my first three hour playing session last night and boy did I had fun. I started out as an Outlander but after checking all his possible skills/spells I decided to try out the Engineer first instead as I felt his skilltree looked more interesting.

There were two aspects of this game I immediately loved:

1. The pace of the game in terms of movement but also in levelling speed
2. The amount and variety of loot

Before reaching level 10 I was wearing a set item (blue), a unique item (purple), had a legendary item (orange) stashed for future use and also found two orange really sweet socketables. If this remains throughout the game then man, I'm gonna have loads of fun with this game.

Due to the high volumes of traffic during release I wasn't able to create a Runic login right away (which you apparently need to be able to play online). After an hour or two, when I managed to create one, I coulnd't link it to my Steam account (which apparently is also necessary to play online). Even now, the account management page is still down. That's a bit of a bummer. I hope it will be solved by the time I get home because I'd like to play some coop games.

I guess I should've been smarter and create a runic login + link it to my steam account before the launch.

Anyway, so far, awesome game, lots of side quests and exciting stuff to discover. Awesome gameplay, huge amount of skill diversion and loot, no bugs so far, for 20 bucks you can't go wrong with this game.

Just one question; I started my current char in an offline game. Will I be able to use this char in Internet games too?

This is the cleanse for my $60 mistake.. loving it so far.
Wolfen 21 Sep, 2012 @ 4:46am
I am enjoying it so far. I started 2 characters and I have been rotating between them. My only complaint is that the game has been freezing on me to the point where I cannot alt-tab out of the game to close it and the only way to close it is a forced restart of my computer. I never had this problem with other games, so I am assuming it is TL2. I have been trying to find a solution on their support forums, but I have not found anything. Has anyone had a problem similar to the problem that I am having?
Wolfen 21 Sep, 2012 @ 4:47am
@Caledus You will be able to use your "offline" characters for online play.
@Wolfen, its not a torchlight 2 problem mate. I keep alt tabing all the time for several reasons. It works fine, not even a black waiting screen or so when i bring the game back.
