Its a great game, no doubt. Everyone else has pointed that out. Just note that it runs really bad on my 2015 MacBook Air which can run other games that are much more graphically intensive just fine. There's also literally no settings other than resolution so optimization isn't an option by the looks of it. I wish I could play it though...

Hopefully Steam support will refund. Just writing this to warn other people who might have machines that just meet the system requirements.

Good potential ruined by bad developers.

If doesn't take too long for you to realise some of the many things wrong with Ballistic Overkill. I'll name a few...

Firstly, there are ZERO instructions on what to do. Nothing is explained to you and you have to figure everything out. There's no training or practise area, no helpful character, nothing.

There are numerous characters in the game and as far as I know they have different skins or at least accessories. The thing is, these characters absolutely suck. I found myself immediately turning the voice volume down to zero because their voices were so annoying and what they said wasn't contextually appropriate and didn't make any sense. The characters are really unlikeable and forgettable.

They are also extremely unbalanced. There's one map where everyone plays sniper and then every other map is dominated by this "Shadow" class that essentially lets you run around being invisible and almost instantly killing everyone with the overpowered weapons. It makes it impossible to use any of the other classes because everyone else is using the same one that is way more powerful than you.

The map design is also pretty generic and has virtually zero strategy elements. They are a masterclass in visuals, that I'll admit. They look great and the developers clearly put effort into making the few maps that are available look vibrant and consistently stylised. But the problem is they're also way too big for the tiny amount of players each game supports.

Speaking of tiny amounts of players, the game, at this point, is virtually abandoned and you'd be lucky to find a room that is full or isn't filled with veterans who have been playing for years. There's no balance between teams so you'll get screwed and will have no choice to change to the winning team or get shuffled the next game. The only time anyone used chat was to throw insults or act toxic.

This game also seems to be available in regions (like mine) where there's no point in it being available because the servers are trash and your ping is guaranteed to be over 200. It makes gameplay impossible. Don't make a game available where it will be unplayable.

What's also funny is that there are virtually no graphics options other than "High, Medium, Low" and basic Anti Aliasing. It runs pretty poorly on my somewhat capable machine compared to other games that look a lot better.

There are much better games out there and I bet if the developers weren't so ignorant and what they chose to work on or if they put any effort into listening to the community, this game wouldn't be so awful.

Would I recommend it? Hell no.

UPDATE: Now the game refuses to open and Steam won't refund it because I'm a few minutes over the maximum playtime. Ugh...

I want to recommend this game, I truly do. But that thumbs down is for a reason.

Neon Drive has amazing potential. It could have been something great, a true recreation of the 80's OutRun aesthetic. But it falls short in numerous ways. It is clear that the developers of this game created something with the intention of simply milking it. Not to create a great game or an art piece.

Firstly, I will admit that visually it is pretty awesome. The maps, although there are only a measly eight of them, look beautiful. The cars, of which there are very few too, look pretty cool and very 80's. Think Countach, Testerossa, DeLorean...

But that's where it pretty much ends. The game is insanely difficult and checkpoints are too far between to really be fair or enjoyable. Sure, I'm not the best gamer out there and I'm sure there is a kid somewhere in Asia sitting behind his Alienware going through every level like its nothing. But that's him.

The cars aren't real but rather the generic knock-off designs like you see in Burnout and Grand Theft Auto. What really sucks is that you can do absolutely nothing with them. They didn't even bother letting you change the color of the cars, nevermind giving them body kits or perhaps special abilities.

The endless mode is especially retarded. Its not even procedural generation or some sort of special map, its just you going through levels 1 to 8 without stopping. I'd also like to add that the levels do at least have some variety. There is always the first stage where you dodge oncoming platforms in a five-lane road. Then, your car turns into a boat, ship, airplane, robot, whatever and a new game mode appears.

The music isn't that great to be honest and what really gets me is that it resets the song for each level when you die, completely ruining it. For most levels the closest you'll get to the "rhythm-based" gameplay is the simple bass sound hitting when you dodge the platforms. Otherwise, there's practically no correlation between the music and the gameplay.

Great idea, inadequate execution. Wait for it to go on sale if you really like it. The cards, backgrounds, badges and achievements at least look pretty awesome.

Every time I play this game I want to come here and give it a negative review. But when I do close it and sit down for a few seconds to think, I realize that there is absolutely no reason why this game should receive a negative review.

Why?

Because it takes a unique concept and executes it flawlessly. There are so many levels and for a game with such a simple premise there sure is a huge amount of variety. I've played a lot of these "Two button control" games and most of them become bland within an hour. Duet, however, continues to surprise you and challenge you.

If you want to experience the full extent of your rage (and gaming abilities) ... Duet is for you.

There are also tons of really difficult achievements that you can try (and ultimately fail) to earn.

Definitely worth the upgrade considering the price. Adds a ton of content and a whole new way to experience the game. Just don't search Afterbirth on Google images.

How to make Insurgency pie

1/4 cup Arma
1/4 cup Battlefield
1/4 cup CS:GO
1/4 Allahu Akbar

Mix into Source batter and drench in desert sand.

Cook for 2014 years, remember to respawn and equip the RPG.

Honestly though, this game is great fun. Its a shame there is no progress, xp, or unlock system, nevermind a currency, but I guess thats part of it's charm. The fact that its just as bare-bones and straight forward as a realistic shooter can get. No more than three shots is all it takes to down your opponent. There is no indication of how much ammo or health you have, or things like a kill feed. It tries to be a real as possible and it works.

The surpression effects always put a smile on my face and the sound is done very well. Its worth a try and for the indie-game price, potato system requirements and only 4.5 GB download, I don't see why an FPS fan wouldn't want to give it a try. (Unless you prefer running on a wall into a robot while he tags you with his laser cannon.) Go play Call of Jimmy Black Crocks III then.

By the way, people who are saying that the game is filled with cancerous kids and racist Russians aren't exactly wrong, its something to consider, but then again, that depends on which servers you play on. I've personally found some great ones with good people that I have made friends with.

There's always bots, too.

Stardew Valley is a cute, light hearted adventure filled with beauty, wonder and fun. You escape the mundane reality of modern life and move to a farm in a small village. You meet unique, sometimes peculiar characters and grow to love each and every one of them as much as you do the game. There's a reason the reviews are so positive and that this little indie game is so popular. Its just good, 'nuff said. You can grow potatos while running the game itself on your potato, so don't worry about system requirements. But that doesn't meet it looks bad, there is a very intricate art style to the game that clearly had the developers putting in hours of work as the end result is beautiful.

Get the game, it won't cost you an arm and a leg and you'll enjoy it for many hours. Its peaceful, its relaxing and generally just a good damn game.

Now I haven't reached my 50 hour quota for reviewing games but given how I have clocked a few hundred hours on this game's prequel, I think I have an idea of what's going on.

I guess there isn't much else to say since chances are you've read a bunch of other reviews and you're either in one of two situations if you're reading this. Firstly, you're probalby busy downloading the game or already playing it, in which case, enjoy it. Don't take it for what it is on the surface, which isn't much but a really ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up dungeon crawler type thing. There is a lot more to the game than what initially meets the eye.

There are a lot of different enemies, items, powerups and secret areas for you to explore. There are also 20 unique and interesting challenges for you to take. There are a few characters, each with their own unique abilities or disabilites and a lot of interesting bosses. What I like about the bosses is that they don't follow the generic "boss fight" standard where they just follow a specific pattern. Their attacks and movement are unpredictable and I like that aspect. As you delve into the game, you will discover more and more. That's why there are people with 1000+ hours clocked, there's just that much to explore. There's just that much more stuff to find out before things get mundane.

If you haven't bought the game yet, do so if you can afford to. Not because everyone says its good, but because everyone says its an essential addition to any gamer's collection, it really is. Whether you like its play style or not, its just one of those games you have to at least try out. The developers have stayed humble and light hearted about their masterpiece and they deserve the small asking price of the game that they receive after you buy it.

A few things I like about the game: The music, it works really well and I like how it changes based on where you are. It has a sense of calmness to it or sometimes a sense of eeriness that really helps with the atmosphere of the game. Generic ear-bleed-inducing heavy metal crap just ruins some games, thankfully, this is not the case here. I would buy the soundtrack if I wasn't a poor ♥♥♥♥.

The enemies: Which other game lets you be a little naked boy covered in crap, shooting pee out of your eyes into a fat blob of a monster that opens its toothed vagina to shoot a stream of blood at you only to explode into a group of flies? In which other game, does contracting TB and Cancer give you power? In which other game do you have to kill gray flying buttholes covered in hair that shoot pops of blood at you with your powerful group of flies and spiders?

Its unique, its creepy and its just great fun. You can play for hours on end or you can simply get a daily 15 minute quick-fix after a stressful game of DOTA or whatever. Oh, and another thing I like is that they integrate with Steam nicely. With a crapload of achievements, trading cards, profile backgrounds, badges and emoticons. This may seem trivial, but its something I personally appreciate.

CS:GO Review
Here's something different, a review from a BEGINNERS perspective

This isn't going to be a "screw this game" review or some stupid joke, I'm actually going to give you my honest opinion.

I've played about an hour of Counter Strike games in my entire life prior to Global Offensive, so I was very new to the concept. But I've played dozens of other FPS games so I'd consider myself experienced in the genre. After 14 years of development, you'd think Valve would deliver a perfect multiplayer FPS... and they have. Why else would Global Offensive be THE MOST POPULAR FPS GAME ON STEAM. They have to be doing something to get that, right?

Firstly, the maps are perfectly crafted. There are a good variety of them and they're great. Heck, they're good enough to be used in eSports championships with milion dollar prize pools! You can't complain there. The weapons? They're rather well balanced. There's no extra ♥♥♥♥ DLC or guns you can only get if you open 600 random boxes. You have easy and fair access to every weapon, every time. The gunplay, as you would think, is great.

This game probably requires more skill than any other FPS. There is plenty of recoil, spread and every gun is different in that regard. You have a lot to learn if you wish to be a good player in this game when it comes to this aspect. Its not a run-and-gun type of thing. You won't be doing any of that, especially since you have to wait until the next round to respawn. Its nice that you can also pick up other people's guns when they die.

With regards to the skin insanity, its pretty much a cash cow for Valve, yes, but you have to understand that they are a business and what is the main objective of a business? Profit. I've personally spent about $5 so far on some stuff for the game and I don't really regret it. Most items are easily accessible and cheap. You have no obligation to spend thousands of dollars on the items you fancy. Because you don't need to. Skins provide ZERO advantage to you. You're literally paying for a .PNG image to show up on your display. But hey, you do get these skins for free every now and then and you can always sell them on the community market. You can't hate this feature.

I'm not a huge fan of the bots as even in expert mode, they are extremely easy to beat, that's something coming from a beginner to Counter Strike. They are stupid and rather useless afer you die. But at the same time, they can be funny and I think their main obejctive is to act as a training course for your multiplayer experience.

Speaking of multiplayer, its very competitive and rewarding if you win. I found myself on the verge of a heart attack on multiple occasions because I was the last one alive, with the bomb in my hand and an enemy team to face. Being me, I fail every time, but the thrill is fun. Yes, the community is regarded as cancerous, but I happen to be lucky enough to live in South Africa, where this is not so much the case. Sure, the occasional 12 year old comes online and plays Whip Nae Nae Oh my god the cringe but then your team kicks them in seconds.

I am yet to come across a hacker

The eSports aspect is cool. Although I only briefly browsed that menu, I found it pretty interesting that you could create your fantasy team and all that. Its also nice that you can get rare, valuable weapon skins while watching the games. I learned a lot watching the best of the best play and hey, wouldn't it be cool getting so good at the game that you could join a team and make millions of dollars doing what you love?!

I probably missed out a lot, but I recommend this game to anyone who is interested in a skill-based FPS that won't be shutting its servers down any time soon.

I've been playing Terraria since its inception and one of the things I love most about it is that the developers are constantly adding content. When I say that, I don't mean the usual patch and an extra gun, no, they add hundreds, sometimes thousads of amazing items for you to discover. Pair that with excellent visuals, endless gameplay, fun combat mechanics and a few extras as I will point out below, you end up with a masterpiece that you can play for months.

Likes

Items: There is a seemingly infinite amount of items in the game. Whether it be ancient swords or modern assult rifles. As well as tons of armor, wearables, cosmetics, building blocks and so it goes. This is one of the things that adds to the replay value. Chances are, you will need to play a thousand hours to legitimately discover everything.

Combat: Unlike its similar friend, Minecraft, this game is a lot more combat focused. There are tons of enemies, from eskimo zombies to giant green flying pigs. Each with their own unique stats, attacks, traits and drops. On your side, there are tons of weapons, literally every single type, each with a million variations. There is one for every playstyle. Whether you like a traditional combat axe or a powerful rocket launcher. Or perhaps a sword that shoots swords?

Blocks: You think Minecraft has blocks? Terraria has thousands. There are so many build materials that this game has gone from a 2D platformer to an architectural masterpiece creator. Provided you have the skill, you can really make some beautiful and functional builds, the community hub proves this on a daily basis.

Steam integration: Althogh some consider this trivial, I love it when a game integrates and takes full advantage of the platform it calls home. You get a lot of achievements, trading cards, emoticons and profile backgrounds, which is a nice way of rewarding your playtime. You can see when your friends are playing and you can join them in seconds. There is multiplayer and servers by the way.

Performance: Now I have a MacBook Air. I wouldn't call it a potato, but it sure ain't great. But this game runs like a dream on it and you may be thinking "so what? It's only a 2D pixel game after all?" And althogh that is somewhat right. There is a pretty high level of complexity within the inner workings of this game. But what I'm getting at here, is that anything can run it and anything can store it. Its a quick 200MB download, so you can get it anytime, anywhere, on anything.

Dislikes

idk, its pretty hard if you suck?
