Game-ruining bug makes this unbearable.

I played this for a couple weeks on launch and had fun but went back to Civ 6 soon after. I came back after about 4½ years and the game is unplayable. I am simply trying to play an easy game to get the hang of things again and within 6 turns the game gets permanently stuck on "turn pending". I have to quicksave and quickload every single turn because the game will softlock until I do so. No mods, only the preorder DLCs enabled, and the game is still completely broken. This has apparently been a bug for years and they've never bothered fixing it at all.

Love Picross. Love Raden. Nuff said.
Okay but really though, the presentation is very charming. Raden makes little vocalizations whenever you cross out or fill in a square, and she gets excited when you clear a line. She gives a detailed explanation of whatever art the puzzle revealed, including personal anecdotes about her life and how she relates to it. Some terms in her explanations have little question marks next to them, and you can open a glossary in the top right to learn what the "Yamato Province" is, for example. I noticed an easter egg where there's a rare chance at the start of the puzzle, instead of Raden saying "hajime!" or "starto!" to begin, the voice line will be replaced by Todoroki Hajime saying "hajime >:D". I think. I have a recording of it but it's still kinda hard to tell. Also the general sound effects give me that Nintendo-tactile feel, kinda like the Switch menus or Animal Crossing New Horizons.
There are two modes. One where you solve puzzles one-by-one that are all in a specific category (or exhibit, i guess, since the whole game takes place in a museum). If you've played Mario's Super Picross on the Super Famicom (or the nintendo switch online virtual console in my case), this will be familiar to you. Once you've completed enough puzzles in that category, you unlock a special harder puzzle that becomes a statue in the museum if you complete it. Then you can move on to the next category. So far I've only finished the 1st category, but I'm gonna assume that as you go along they get harder.
The 2nd mode is in a room where you click on an empty picture frame, and it opens up a bunch of mini puzzles that once completed, become part of a painting. I only did a bit of one before I closed the game, but the tutorial preview showed that one of them was a pixel art rendition of ReGLOSS' Shunkan Heartbeat album cover.
If you like Picross, you like this, and if you like ReGLOSS, you'll like this. I like both, so I extra like this.

I only have 0.2 hours on the Steam version but I first played this game 9 years ago when I was in high school. I'm not exaggerating when I say that this game shaped me to be the way that I am now. I can't formulate my words properly to describe exactly what I love about this game but it has some serious "learn to love yourself" themes.

The game has a very specific charm to it that I've never felt from anything else. The art style is kind of scratchy, the soundtrack is mostly piano and acoustic guitar, the backgrounds are just photos with oil painting filters over them... You can tell it was made by a ragtag team of 4chan users. I guess the best way I could describe the vibe I get from Katawa Shoujo is, if you're the type of person who enjoys the atmosphere of cafes, bookstores, and/or libraries, you'll thoroughly enjoy how tranquil this game generally is.

I've played every girl's route twice (except Shizune's), my 2nd playthroughs being on the Android port of the game as I used to read this on the bus twhen I went to summer school. I highly, HIGHLY recommend that you all play this. It is essential reading for anybody interested in visual novels.

Oh and just so you know, they're ALL the best girl. Seriously, I love all of them and it's hard to choose a favorite. I guess I gravitate to Rin the most since we're both autists.

As the PC port has been fixed enough, I'm changing my initial negative review to a positive review. Under Night is my favorite fighting game. If you have some bias against this game as some niche dead anime game that you can just ignore for something else like Guilty Gear, please reconsider. The community is a lot larger than you probably think it is. This game is so, so fun, and the characters are a blast to both play as, and play against. It also has a fantastic tutorial and fun combo trials to help you learn your character before you start playing against others. I myself constantly switch up what character I play every time I play because they're all so fun. This wasn't my first fighting game I played online, but it was the first one (well, UNIST, the previous previous version was the first one actually) that actually managed to get me to try and get good at it.

This used to be a good game. Then NGS came out and completely killed that good game's playerbase. You can still play that good game, but it's almost completely uninhabited, and they don't have scheduled raid bosses anymore. Every 30 minutes you have to pray to god that one will randomly appear, and that it's one of the actually fun ones and not the crappy tower defense quests.

So the old game got gutted. How's the new game? There's nothing to do in it. And if there was, it wouldn't be fun because the core mechanics of NGS are inherently boring. The combat is less interesting, the world is empty and incredibly generic, there's no reason to play with other people, the story is terrible, and the MMORPG mechanics like skill trees, gear, and levelling are completely unintuitive. I and a ton of other people want SEGA to scrap the open world and go back to a lobby/instanced quest system, but we all know that will literally never ever happen.

This game is dead. There are only 2 groups of people that make up the playerbase: The people who've only been playing for a couple days and will eventually get bored, and the AFK coomers that sit in the lobby with their ugly characters and ERP all day.

Easily the best Monster Hunter game. The controls are so fluid that it's impossible to play any of the older games now.
