Eh, that's about all there is to say about it.

Old game but still love it

If you're intending to play on official servers and you enjoy spending the next roughly 10 hours to grind away levels to unlock enough points to build a schooner. Then an additional 40 hours trying to find an island that's not cluttered with people and building said crappy schooner that will probably be sunk on your first outting, then this is ABSOLUTELY the game for you.

No, I don't recommend this game unless you plan to join an RP server. OR You plan to play it with other people you already know. Because solo on this game on official servers makes the game worth maybe $1.00 MAYBE.

Now if you're going to play solo and up ALL the settings then sure it's half decent but you'll still spend an entire day just to build one boat lol. You'll probably end up using admin commands out of frustration at some point.

The Free to Play tag is 100% a lie, it's only there to get you to download it only to get into the game and find out that in order to actually play anything other than a trial/ tutorial version of the campaign. The actual game is like $19 if memory serves, so just be prepared to pay that if you're actually interested in the game. Otherwise, don't bother downloading it.

In it's current state it's pretty glitchy, clunky, unpolished and just over all bad honestly.
And before you say it's my PC or Internet no, trust me it's definitely not that lol.
The game just needs a lot of work but basically this Apocalypse version of the game is just a high-fantasy version of fortnite so yeah don't expect much at all if you try it out.

Maybe the Ashes of Creation MMO will be better but this, this is garbage.

Overall, I would not recommend this game and I wont be playing it again, after this review I will uninstall it. I'd give the game a 3.5/10 maybe a 4. It runs smoothly enough and looks decent but, the game-play is just not any fun and it's very basic and repetitive. It feels like something someone would have made for a class project in college with good effort visually but, half-assed mechanics.

Pros:
Downloaded quickly?
I mean, the game itself performs decently enough.
It looks decent visually.
Doesn't lag.

Cons:
It's honestly very boring. You just run around slashing at NPCs, there's no combo mechanics to the game making combat very stale and slow. No skill based attacks like a smash or counter or anything of that nature, you have only 2 attack options, left click and it performs the same motion in slow repetition, so your attack is not fluid at all. Secondly, every so often you fill up a blue bar which allows for a basically useless "special" attack that's honestly no better than the regular attack damage wise BUT you're special attack is slower, so that's super helpful >_> Also, character customization is extremely limited and your character looks like a child. Honestly, it's very basic and gets boring after about 15 minutes. No defense skills that I could find and only a slow evasive roll for dodging.

Update to review below April 1st 2020 (no this is not an april fools thing) recently game has been having some issues since it's last update, that I am unsure of the cause but, I do know they are not on my end. I have checked integrity of files, I have uninstalled and redownloaded the game and pretty much everything you could think to do, I have probably already done it and the issues continue to persist.

What is the issue you ask? My save files constantly getting corrupted or deleted. Only happens with this game. No idea why this is happening, basically 80 something hours on career save now gone.

So yeah, not sure if this is just happening to me or others as well, but as long as the game is doing this I can not in good faith recommend this to anyone at all.

Old review.
Honestly, it's a fairly decent game with some nice graphics content, not at all disappointed with that aspect. Also, the game has it's own music soundtracks as well as an option to import your own music files to listen to while playing OR browse through about 300 online radio stations if you prefer that. A lot of nice customization options for PC building. Most of the products in the game are actual computer components. Overall, I'd give the game a solid 8/10

The only downsides are if you're expecting to ever see a different work area, prepare to be disappointed because it's not going to happen. You will be stuck in the same building, surrounded by the same walls indefinitely with no options to changing the appearance of you're surroundings AT ALL. With the exception of eventually saving up the money to add 2 more work benches and a storage case to stick pre-built computers or computer cases that you're currently not using. Also, it's a very repetitive game, you're going to be doing the EXACT same things again and again and again. It will get old eventually.

What it could use AND needs, options for progressing to a new building or AT LEAST expanding and changing the appearance of the given building. I mean, I'd like dark painted walls and installing some neon or LED lighting in the room or around the desks and such. But, not an option which sucks. Need options for installing LED lighting inside the cases, like actual LED/ RGB strips being added inside the cases. The games "ebay" mechanics need to be improved, if I build a $2000 pc I'd like for it to sell for more than $527.00 whether the parts are used or brand new everything. So, no free build and sell options outside of email orders with a budget limit or option limitations.

I give this game a 6/10 it needs a lot of improvement especially with the issues of it crashing randomly. I've been on servers that have crashed and kicked everyone out. Too many glitches allowing people to sneak in and steal others hard earned items. Need to probably add passcodes for chests or implement a system where you get a key in your inventory for a chest or something. If nothing else have an option for public use or player only use on the placed items. Kind of like in ARK you can lock things and put passcodes on them.
Secondly servers are typically too small, like not enough people and price of your own server is more expensive than I myself am willing to pay for it.
All in all it's a somewhat decent game but it needs A LOT of work, but i would recomend at least checking it out cuse it MIGHT get better... maybe.

It's a good game but for some reason after buying my new PC when I redownloaded this game on my new pc it gets stuck on a black screen and doesn't work.
