This game is one of the best, if not the best i've ever played in the last 10 years.

If I could only highlight one thing about this game it would be the music, it set the scenes so perfectly and it was so damn good, i still have the intro-melody stuck in my head.

I could write a thousand lines of what I liked about this game but honestly as cringe as it may sound but words cant do this game justice, you need to experience it yourself. Everything was amazing and it was a pure joy to play, I havent felt this way about a game since Witcher 3 or Red Dead 2. This game is up there for me, thats how good it is

Everything was so amazing:

• World-building is amazing, its so creative and beautiful
  
• Difficulty was spot on and felt perfectly balanced which a lot of games fail to do (talking about expert difficulty, dont know about the others) - made it feel super rewarding to slowly get better at parrying each attack
  
• Voiceacting is really good and super high quality
  
• Graphics are gorgeous,
  
• The MUSIC - oh my god the music was definitely the highlight for me especially how emotional it got during the boss fights
• Story was great with actual likeable characters full of personality
  
• Gameplay and animations were super fluid and fun to look at

What I liked a lot about this is that while it's turn-based it still requires you to have very fast reactions on parries which are essential so you're always paying full attention

I know im meat-riding this game a little bit but it really flashed me especially in todays world where most studios only care about pushing agendas down your throat or squeeze money out of you.

Thanks for making this gem and I will definitely keep an eye on Sandfall Interactive for their future games.

if i could give a "mixed" review option, i'd do that.


I'm kinda in two minds about this game because i wanted it so bad to be good but at this point im not sure if the pros outweigh the cons

pros:

• gameplay is fun and pretty much everything about the archetype system is great
  
• story has a decent length to it with lots of content (easily 60hour+ if you dont rush the story)
  
• the world/lore is interesting with all the different tribes of people etc.
  
• graphics are good ( i liked persona 5 graphics better but its not the worst)
  
• little to no bugs, i felt like its a really polished game
  
• voice acting is really good

cons:

• plot - i felt like the plot was just "i want a world without racism and to help everybody and to be as good as possible!" at all times with little to no twists. its alright but its just so basic and generic
  
• writing for the followers and antagonists. I tried so hard to be invested in my followers and their story but after some time it just became so bland that i stopped caring about it at all. some of them start interesting but turn out generic and just plain boring. same with the antagonists, they mostly start out interesting but time after time they keep underestimating the main character to a point where its almost like they want to be beaten. one bad guy for example beats you like 3 times but always chooses to "show dominance" and let you live even though the fights got close until you finally beat him, it makes no sense at all lol
  
• writing for the npcs - and this one really ruined my immersion the most because the normal npc citizen people are written to be the dumbest people to exist. bad guy summons huge monsters that wrecks half the town and kills hundreds of innocent people and one day later they praise him as the saviour and the only hope for the country. They basically act like the bad guy has never done anything wrong but when the main character makes a mistake they hold a grudge until the end of times. it really disconnected me from the world
  
• no romance at all. its kinda whatever to be honest but i felt like it would've been a nice touch
  
• difficulty (?) i played on hard, did every sidequest, every follower interaction, every bounty and almost never dodge enemies on purpose and sometimes found myself 10-15 levels below the next boss resulting in me cheesing the absolute hell out of it to not be killed in one turn. idk if im just stupid but it felt wrong
  
• deadlines: i felt like i had almost no time at all to do the things i wanted (bonding with followers, colloseum, increase virtues, stats). I managed to get everything to max literally on the second last day in the game, could not have been closer and i basically tried to be as efficient as possible and still missed out on a little stuff. Maybe youre not supposed to do everything in one playthrough but i tried and it kinda stressed me out at the end

now that i read my review it looks like im absolutely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on the game because the cons are a lot but thats just because i really wanted this game to be good so the cons annoyed me a little more than they probably should.
Overall the game was fun, get it on sale but not for 70€
