Very flawed with bugs all over. Performance will fall off a cliff even with modern high end specs like a 9950x3d and 50 series gpu and very adequate ram in long play sessions. The game is lovely outside of that. Has a lot of what fallout has forgotten. I love the team and their games. but really wish they'd come back to at least patch this game proper.

Also has a huge issue with companions leaving because of splash damage to "innocent" parties. if you turn off a turret, sometimes your party leave. If you kill an encounter in the world map with monsters, theyll leave. The game is really bugged in that regard. There are* save editors but one is running through someones website to patch xml to json and back and the other is from a cheats forum that's sketchy enough to flag the built in browser antivirus. I know plenty about false positives, but have never ever had my browser flag something as a virus before, If/when you run into this bug, safest way to fix it is to ignore the companion or convert your own save to json and edit it and convert it back.

Early Access Review
I love a lot of this game. like a lot of it has a feeling of playing ds1 for the first time over and I love a lot of the design decisions. I won't get into the positives in the review though. The crafting/resource management is the weakest part of the game for me. Maybe there needs to be some sort of yakuza style minigame where you run a shop or buy and sell property and can't just buy crafting benches. Making crafted gear/items feel more important and exclusive since you can just find literally all that stuff out in the world. It's like if monster hunter enemies dropped weapons but you can also go back and craft that exact same weapon at base. That's my biggest critique of the game so far.

Really bad in a fun way. Story is awful, dialog is mostly awful in an unintentionally hilarious way. Combat feels great, but enemy variety isn't. They throw the previous boss at you as a common enemy. Up to 6? bosses at a time. A specific explosive weapon also will absolutely crash your game if you use it more than 2 times total. Coop was a bit buggy, but we only crashed from using said explosive weapon. The ending was too rushed and offers no closure. If it's on sale, I think it's worth a run with a friend.

I am deep into act 3. I'm loving my time with this.
The characters and story are great.
I will say though, the polish is missing a little in act 3 compared to the previous ones. The combat feels fine, but the design of the levels seems to flake off some of the previous philosophies of walling areas off to let you know where theres a different exit. There's more typos and issues with chests not being interactable at all. More major layering issues than the previous acts combined. I think the game definitely needs some fixing up in that regard. I think the prev patch notes said they removed an area so they could fix it up. I still recommend it as it is, but I think if you want to play this proper, you should wait a couple of months until it's in a better state. I speak a lot of negatives but I really mean that the characters and story are great. A true harken back to the old ways of RPG that no modern indies really capture.

Told my best friend's girlfriend that he bought this cool game for all of us and that she should check out the store page. I didn't say what the game looked like, just how it played. Phantasy star sonic adventure 2. but a dungeon crawler class based fake mmo.
(I bought this for my friends)
kinda don't like how lewd the game art is as it'll turn away friends from playing it but my homies believed in me that its just the steam store art and the character creator and that the game kicks ass. Ron Ipineapple sent me here.

Just bizarre. In a good way. Go in without looking it up. The music and art are great.

It has the things new games forget.
I am really enjoying my time so far.
My only criticism might be that you can spec your character any way and that the choices don't really seam to matter too much. The reputation has me intrigued and hopeful that that is not the case though.

The marketing over it being a more "serious" game and story doesn't hold true. There's a lot of mediocre side quests and a fair amount good ones, but the bad ones are really, really awful. Like go into the audio setting and mute the dialog in its entirety bad. Its bad moments are worse than BL3. Just hoping for characters to shut up or die so you don't have more dialog from them. At least 1 story mission had me saying just shut up aloud because the character was so unlikeable and unfunny and wouldn't shut up.

One big thing I've noticed is everyone is all comfortable weirdos. The grim and desperate notes just dont hit at all. It might be the voice acting direction or "marvel quirky" tone to it, but its rare a solmn note hits. It doesn't feel like there's much stakes to anything. Everyone just wears the same punk haircuts and looks like hipsters. The psychos having punk haircuts made sense, but they all do now and it just seems bad goofy. Characters feel like they're written by different people per conversation. It's maybe better than bl3, but it doesn't sit anywhere near bl1/bl2/and the old tales game for me story wise. Gameplay is great besides fighting the same enemy types over and over again. I sorta miss the Hyperion robots.

This game is massive. I'm playing without DLC with a friend and it's gigantic. I'm sort of intimidated by how big it'll be after the season pass 2 is done
