Having been given the game by a friend early in the day, I overall enjoyed everytime I played it with the new big patches and such.
Before Gloomrot, it was a good experience, it was bit rough but fun, kinda empty.
With Gloomrot, became better, you could customize the capabilities of your spells with jewels.
1.0 update made things so much better for gameplay, with pick your magic skill. You can undo your school to fit skills you want to use until you beat every boss under GS 83. So not having to wait for Nicholaus the Fallen or Kriig the Undead General to use Ward of the Damned.
Crafting in this game is rewarding, as most items in the game will still be used even into endgame.
Base building is fun, even if it's not quite the best until you've already beaten most of the bosses.
Servants are fun, although they can be fleshed out more, but for sending out to mission and getting stuff practically free, good for me. And if you picked a location with a Roaming boss, you could drag them into your castle and beat them senseless (well, except for our favorite "CHALLENGING" V blood whom shall not be named)..

I got this game from a friend. They thought it'd be a nice game to get me to play something with.
With only the Mastery skins (aside of Engineer as I main engi), I can safely say I love this game.
When it was first gifted to me.. I couldn't play. I had Cursor lock issue that ran rampant with copious reinstalls of windows, drive updating and even buying a new mouse, which didnt fix. It prevented me from enjoying this, my Doom level making, and some other FPS games. Until I was led to Tiny11, then it fixed everything. Almost nearing 9 months of no issue, and I'm happy.

This game is fun with friends, fun with to screw around with Artifacts, fun with screw with your friends with the artifacts.
And as final words. BUNGUS FOR LIFE.

It's chaotic fun. Unlike Mario Party, your friends are still your friends, just angry because you killed them. <3

This game never fails to amuse me even playing it time and time again, either the original system, Doom64 EX or even this.
This game was made for the PC, the old n64 controller was terrible and made it very difficult. But EX rolled around, a faithful recreation of the game, felt and played much like it. Even the old Hectic cheese remained the same. But it didnt have what 64 did, the engine. Amazing on what it did, but the 64 had a few actions that EX couldnt.

I played on Watch Me Die! Difficulty, the big thing that comes with this is much harder mob masses. And 3 Cyberdemons prior to final level.... And Pain Elementals, like Doom 2.... CAN KISS MY ASS.
The Lost Levels, the 2nd campaign was difficult in the right ways. First 2 levels aren't shy about the ammo, but after that it's lax, but then the mob encounters actually needing to use strategy instead of lul'zing around.

I highly recommend this game. Both for fun, and competitive running. And if enough of the masses figure out, even creating usermade levels for it too. ;D

Have had the game since Alpha, and compared it is different.
Alpha had a sense of leveling direction, where your levels and gear mattered.
Beta is gear oriented and levels from Artifacts, are moot. As it is behind region locking.

+The combat on Beta is much better then Alpha. The control of your character and able to do what your class is good at.
+Food/Healing is easier to come by in Beta, which is truly nice.
+Crafting is more viable option (but materials for weapons/armor don't spawn half as much.
+Land Biomes. Unlike the alpha, this has variety of in the biomes.

-Items being regions locked.. Well, I can understand weapons and armor, but not the key items. If Exploration is key, atleast keep the travel methods free to use, I dont mind hunting for Bell, Harp, Bird and Treasure spirit, atleast not every region -should require- these. *
-While the combat is better, there is lies the problem of Enemy Mages. If they have a laser attack, even tiered gear still get demolished. Some Yellow Tier Bosses have nigh unavoidable moves (can't be given time to counter it), and it often 1 hits even while being a Warrior-Defender type. Ranged characters start rough but do much better then a Warrior on these cases.

*I would go back to leveling up if things were putting points into something: All Riding Skills put into 1 "Riding" with every point 2% increase in speed, stops at 80% (level 40). Pet Skill (gives them HP, and minor attack/healing boost, only to 10),
Combat Skills will give minor boosts to HP, Armor/Toughness/Resistance and Damage (attack speed is under YOUR control) and has like a 100 cap, and a Special Cooldown to reduce Ultimate by 6 seconds at Level 10-30-65 with only 3 points put in.

I would still recommend the game, but it's not with out its flaws. I won't leave this as a negative review in the hope that Wollay would continue to work on the game and ultimately make it better. I trust his word, I don't want him to dissappear again due to problem people.

The game is quite fun.
It has it's moments where it can be a little repetitive, but the joy is being able to build your own bot and explore the possibilities of making it for looks or can take more hits then a dump truck.
The game has gone through A LOT of changes since last year, when I joined it was in the period where you could potentially get locked from the game because you didn't have the RP to repair your bot, but now you don't have to worry of that.
You should try it.

This game is great, and makes ease of killing time.
I haven't played Dwarf Fortress, and sadly it doesn't please me, I watched enough to say it's not worth my time.

Onto the real part:
Despite not having a tutorial, the game is still forgiving enough for you to keep trying. Once you got to a point where you got the jist of the game, expand by making a castle and making weapons from mining or trading with another city (Found in Kingdom Tab).
Just the only thing that will hit you is Kingdom Worth, for starters, try to get Bronze armor and iron or so weapons before 15,000 (15k) worth and make sure they are trained.
