For the love of all that's holy please fix this game. What a massively underrated gem this was.

This game got a lot of hate from people that never played it and it unfortunately shows.

Simply put the gameplay is competitive yet fun, it feels great to play. The aesthetics are unique and the music fits so well. Usually I'm not into extraction shooters but this game really drew me in. Bungie is known for their ARG puzzles and they're doing on again to get onto the Marathon ship from the original trilogy. I've been following as best as I can and that's more fun added on top of the gameplay.

I played the beta and the server slam and could tell from then that this was going to be a fun game, and I'm glad to see I was right. This game may not save Bungie, but that doesn't mean it's a bad game. I do agree that this game should have been free though, as they will have season passes that you'll have to purchase along the way, but I can see why they had to put a price tag on it.

Remember that the refund system exists, so give this game a shot when you can and decide for yourself if it's worth your $40. It was definitely worth my $60.

There's not a lot to the game besides shooting bugs with a lot of friends with a lot of different classes to play as. Sure there could be more to it than that but that's kind of hard to do with this kind of setting. Regardless, I have fun with it. Definitely a good co-op game to play with a group of friends.

I'm doing my part!

While this game had great intentions, I find myself not having a good time whenever I play this game.

The gunplay is awful. Every weapon has the accuracy of a musket and no amount of attachments on any weapon can fix this. Being limited by this restriction makes the gameplay feel unauthentic and isn't fun, I can't see a reason why every weapon in the game has to be like this.

The leveling and experience gain is a painful grind even with the uncommon experience boosts you are given. Locking items behind challenges locked behind levels is a clear sign the devs are begging for more time from their players, not even the weekly or daily challenges help with this struggle.

The maps are uninspired blobs of 'stuff' that follow no formula and feel like they've just been tossed together by a visual designer instead of a real experienced level designer. None of the maps have an engaging feel to them, nor do they provide any kind of proper flow. Another gripe I have with the maps is their extremely limited space, leaving no room for flanking or freedom of movement for ground vehicles, as they always have to stick to specific paths. This game has completely abandoned the sense of scale that came with every Battlefield before it, even 2042 was able to accomplish these things. The only map with any kind of verticality is the New York one, but even then it's extremely limited.

The UI is overdone. The main menu itself is always confusing to move around in because of how many tiles and menus you have to go through to actually do anything. It needs to be more simplified so people don't have to spend an extra minute or two trying to find the right menu or tile they are looking for.

While this game made a great effort in returning to form in terms of aesthetics and not begging for more money through microtransactions, it feels like this game is still riddled with the problems of most modern AAA games today in terms of gameplay.

Severely underrated game. Really wish this game takes off someday so I can see what a real lobby full of players looks like.

Very action packed and fast paced. I love the adrenaline rush that happens in every fight, and the feedback from doing anything in this game feels very nice. I suggest playing with friends though.

Its easy to tell a lot of love was put into this collection. Even though it originally released in 2014 in not-so-good condition, it was still fun to have all of the classics in one game.

Now, it's easy to see the team that works on this game are passionate about it. With the release of decades old cut content being handed off to modders and players, I'm confident that this series will live on a lot longer than people think thanks to the impact Halo has had since its debut.

Some of the best world building I have ever seen from an indie game. The immediate story and objective isn't very clear until after halfway through the game and the level design can be a bit confusing, the believably dystopian atmosphere and smooth gameplay mechanics make up for it. Considering it is at it's heart a Half Life 2 mod, I feel like this game deserves the title of most underrated HL2 mod to date.

Early Access Review
Years ago this game was made to be its own unique experience, and it was clear that it was headed in the right direction all those years ago with how great the gameplay was coming along.

Now the gameplay has had quite a bit of a remake, and it's still amazing. With the remake on the gameplay and the customization elements of everything, including what armor plates you have on, has turned this game into everything Battlefield 2042 should have been even though it's still in an early development stage.

I highly recommend this game to people who are disappointed with 2042, or looking for a Battlefield-like experience with more customization.

I honestly expected a lot more from 343 with how they hyped this game up to be truer to the Bungie style of Halo games, but they really dropped the ball with this game despite what the majority of people say.

There's no individual game modes, making it so much more difficult to complete the already shoddy challenges they give you to progress in the season pass. Most challenges are objective based, and yet they won't let us choose the type of mode we want in order to complete those challenges.
This means no Swat, no team snipers, and no king of the hill either. What if I just want to play normal slayer? Nope. I'm forced to be put in some random objective mode, and if I don't like it, I get banned for leaving.

The map designs are honestly god awful, and it doesn't help with the fact that only 4 weapons in the entire game are semi-viable thanks to how long the TTK is compared to every other Halo game out there. None of the Covenant/Banished weapons besides the ones that guarantee one-shot kills are useful in any capacity with how shoddy they are.

Team colors are also a thing of the past now because monetizing armor colors of all things is important to 343 for some reason, which is honestly a huge disappointment.

I understand this is just a beta, but these issues were very prevalent in the test flight as well, and had gotten extreme negative feedback in their own forums about these things. Just like with how 343 decided to nerf the battle rifle just to make the commando viable, I'm confident they won't be fixing any of these issues until the damage has been too set in stone.

Edit: So its been a while since I made my review back in the beta. I can confidently say that this game is actually dead and my predictions were correct. There's honestly nothing fun about this game. It simply just isn't Halo in the slightest. This is just a mockup combination of Call of Duty Advanced Warfare and Fortnite.
