Dear EA.

I've been playing Battlefield since the original game was released way back in 2002. There's been some missteps along the way some bizarre choices and weird implementations. But by and large for the last 23 years BF has been my go to online shooter. You have now sullied all the good will I had for the series by introducing a game mode which is in it's dying last breaths of acceptance in the gaming community. A knock off of everything that is wrong with MP shooters. Namely your Warzone clone Redsec. We didn't ask for it, we didn't want it, but still your inability to read the room has lead to this, a game mode that is taking precious development time away from the core game and where the core experience of BF lies and it's true strength. In essence you let us down.

Now, I know I don't have to engage with that game mode, but it doesn't detract from the fact that game mode exists and the pen pushers and excel spreadsheet watching execs at EA see Redsec as their new shiny 'Buttstallion' If Redsec fails (which it will) the blame will lie at the feet of the dev team that built it and the consensus will be at EA, nobody wants to play BF. Development will cease, doors will be shut and another round of mass layoffs will hit the already fragile industry. You are the architects of your own doom.

Portal has been ransacked and ruined, with no ETA on when it'll be fixed. Large swaths of the game have been overlooked for a battlepass and the aforementioned BR mode. The sheer length and depth of CoD like pandering in order to hopefully woo those players away from that franchise is bewildering. COD is COD, BF is BF, it should stay that way, horses for courses.

I'd rather play Battlefield 4 now. Indeed play BF1942 and BF2 on private servers rather than this rote bipolar identity crisis of a game. Sort your Sh1t out EA.

Sincerely

Concerned BF Veteran
