Very cool game but its' popularity has allowed the devs to slack off without consequence, updates and content have become very slow and underwhelming.

It's a shadow of its' former self, e-sports ruin everything they touch.

A pretty old game with a lively community (if you set your download region to Luxembourg that is..)
The story is interesting, thrilling, and the lore is well-hidden. The combat system is on-point, 10/10.
PvP is very fun aswell, although you will find one or two hackers or unfair players, but that's a rare occurence (the hackers that is...).
Sadly, cooping with a friend can be hard at times.
But this game is still alive, and I'm glad for it!

Even though it still has Dark Souls II in the title it's pretty different from the original one.
The graphics are much better (just like the trailer woooo) which means torches are actually useful, they changed the locations a bit aswell, and made some weapons easier to get and others harder, same with enemies and their loot, and of course spells.
But...
Katanas are still ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ overpowered :/
I mean why does a tiny little bladed weapon hit harder than a giant anvil on a stick? ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Fromsoft :steamsalty:

Tanks (alongside most military hardware in general, but especially tanks) are one of my biggest interests as a hobby, so it's very unfortunate that one of the biggest games to explore said hobby (biggest in terms of content and playerbase) is so bad.

The gameplay in itself is fine (it gets worse in the higher tiers, but the lower and mid tiers are alright) but this is by far the worst progression I've ever seen in any game using this model of progression. I've played World of Tanks since 2012 and War Thunder since 2013 (both on-and-off). I've also played Armored Warfare since 2019. All 3 of these games use the same system for unlocking new vehicles and progressing through the game, but War Thunder's is by FAR the worst (odd, considering it's also the most popular of the three, you'd expect them to be less aggressive at monetizing the game because of this, but it's the exact opposite). I have 750+ hours of total playtime, some of it is in airplanes, but most of it is in tanks. Despite using a premium vehicle to aid in my progress, as well as having played the game for so long, I am nowhere near even A THIRD of the waythrough the two trees I've been focusing on grinding (the progression gets drastically slower as you start to research latewar vehicles, and it only gets even lower from there with each passing rank).

It sucks because I'd really like to enjoy this game, but the grind is a joke. Even by grindy game standards it's way too much, you end up having to play the same handful of vehicles for weeks, months even, just to get another vehicle and to then realise you're not even halfway to the vehicle you want. It's by far the most anti-player game on Steam right now (unironically worse than some mobile game Gachas) but it's been getting away with it because it has no competition (the WoT damage system is unpopular and the developers of it aren't innocent either. Sprocket and other indie titles don't have enough traction yet).

As of late Gaijin have been getting into trouble with their increasingly anti-player decisions regarding the game's economy and progression. As the player outcry finally got larger, they put out a statement defending themselves, only for the player response to get even louder.
It was only after the failure of their first post that they put out a (very vague) statement apologizing and saying they'll take steps towards improving the game, and this reasoning is precisely why I don't believe said post. It feels a lot more like damage control than a genuine will of wanting to improve the game. Keep in mind that this is the same company that put out May 19th's post. Do you think they would've posted May 23rd's post if we had stopped after their previous one? Their intentions are very clear.

I've resorted to using Sprocket and Gunner HEAT PC to satiate my tank thirst, I hope more people do the same until the game improves, but I doubt it ever will, any change to be made with the game's improvement in mind always comes hand in hand with two changes to worsen it later down the line. Gaijin can't afford to lose a cent.
