YES! GET THIS GAME! NOW!
Kerbal Space Program makes rocket science very simple in a way that it still makes you feel smart when you achieve something. Anyone can follow the tutorials in the game and learn rocket science. You also learn things that you then recognize in the videos of real life rockets, and it makes you feel smart.
And the Kerbals (these green ... things ... that fly your spacecraft) are hilarious, so expect to have fun whilst learning a lot!

Nice programming language. It is easy and self explanatory to get started, but interesting and complex when you want to do complicated, end-game stuff. I also like that bots can do (almost) everything that the player can do, so everything can be automated.

Fun sandbox game, but development is so slow it is effectively abandoned.
Survival was fun for a bit, but gets boring quickly.
The latest update was advertised as a serious improvement to the physics engine. Although it did significantly speed up some scenarios, it does not solve all performance issues, and made the physics engine prohibitively unreliable.
I have many hours in this game from back when they still added stuff. Now, it is not worth your money and not worth your time.
