A very impressive and faithful remake to one of the most influential games of all time. Every aspect from the graphics, animations, weapon/enemy balance has been improved to fit modern standards. The gun play and movement is punchy and fast. The level design is much improved from the original, though the later Xen levels does drag on for too long.

A must play for all newcomers and fans of Half-Life. I recommend playing the original Half-Life before Black Mesa though, so you can fully appreciate the remake's improvements.

Probably the most fun I had playing a boomer shooter. The guns are creatively designed and are fun to shoot. I particularly like the wide array of enemies and designs and with it the vibrant and low polygonal art style.

Only complaint is the enemies in the later levels start to become annoying to fight, not necessarily difficult, just poorly designed.

*Currently only Halo Reach is playable in the MCC and thus this review will focus on that portion of the collection*

The PC port, for the most part, is well done. Although there are some glaring audio issues (players have reported muffled audio) and there is a lack of extensive graphical sliders and options.

Halo Reach is a phenomenal entry in the Halo series and after spending time going through campaign in both single player and cooperative modes I can say that Halo Reach's campaign is one of the few "traditional" fps style campaigns that I have the pleasure of playing through. Each level sees your Spartan (Noble 6) engaging in; tense close quarters combat in tight corridors, open ended battlefields with free form vehicular combat and, a few surprise settings sprinkled throughout. Enemies are diverse and intelligent, often making use of flanking tactics and environmental obstacles as cover.

However the campaign does suffer from poor pacing. Events feel rushed and there wasn't enough time to develop the characters in your team of Spartans. This becomes an issue later into the campaign's story. The campaign's atmosphere however, is really well done, depicting a desperate and futile battle for the survival of the planet Reach.

I haven't delved too much into multiplayer, but I have experienced some networking issues where I was unable to connect to matches. From what I've played so far, multiplayer is solid and satisfying. The inclusion of the season pass style unlock system seems strange but it does not get in the way of the enjoyment. The game also sports a fully customizable horde mode called "Firefight" which serves as a fun addition to it's solid campaign and multiplayer offering.

**Note that playing campaign and offline firefight does not contribute to unlocking cosmetics**

Halo Reach is a solid first step in bringing this legendary franchise to PC. I wholeheartedly recommend purchasing Halo: The Master Chief Collection so that you can have the chance to play one of gaming's most influential franchises.

(Note: This game was included in the Definitive Edition of Metal Gear Solid V which I highly reccomend getting as it is 50% (in my country) cheaper than the base game of Metal Gear Solid: The Phantom Pain and it includes all DLCs and Ground Zeroes)

Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes can simply be described as a "Glorified Demo"

A very well made demo. I'm not a huge Metal Gear fan, the only installment I've played was Peace Walker on the PSP (Which in my opinion really fun :D) and OHH BOY! Events in this game made sense to me as Ground Zeroes continued from Peace Walker.

Although Ground Zeroes consist of only a small map it provides countless opportunites to explore different strategies and tactics. Think of it as a sandbox stealth game. Going all guns blazing is also a viable option but the sense of accomplishment isnt as rewarding as going in all sneaky beaky like. There are also multiple side missions (Side Ops/ Extra Ops) that can be played as well as the main mission. If you enjoy stealth games and/ or sandbox games then by all means purchase Ground Zeroes. It sets the mood for The Phantom Pain very well.

I would reccomend purchasing the Metal Gear Solid V: Definitive Edition as you'll be able to play Ground Zeroes and Phantom Pain for cheaper price, It's a great deal :D

If however you would like to purchase Ground Zeroes only (Why would you do that?!?!?!) then I suggest waiting for the game to go on sale :)
