First game was better. It's still good but the ending sucks.

It's a drama and shouldn't have a happy end. But i hate that the final message of the game is
Just give up, it's all pointless anyway.

Very nice demo. More build diversity and influence would be cool.

The game itself is amazing, topnotch; gameplay, music, characters, story, meme references.
However there are some control issues that desperately need to be fixed.

1. There is no way to configure the character wheel and they kinda get replaced by the newer ones. i kinda wanna decide myself which characters i want where on the wheel. Also in terms of muscle memory this is really bothersome cause i have to look 5 minutes for my character. It kinda defeats the purpose of having a quick select wheel.

2. The direction you're aiming is controlled exclusively by your walking direction, and not with a seperate joystick.
you can "lock" your aiming direction with R2 but you still have to walk into that direction first for a split second in order to lock it which makes it aiming pretty unintuitive especially with ranged characters.

I love and hate the game at the same time. At the time i can not recommend anyone buying it. But i'm willing to give it another chance and ill update this review once the necessary fixes have been made, and the promised content added.

5/10 Don't buy.

Great game and the mod support enhances it greatly as it always does.

10/10 can't say anything bad about it since it's very polished and you can fix all the stuff you don't like with mods.

Coming from Mount & Blade Warband, the forced directional blocking makes this game completly unplayable for me. 0/10 Thats what i waited for so long thanks....

Well, i dont know how far this game is in the development state but it surely has a long way to come. And i don't mean lack of content. My biggest issue is that the game is agonizingly slow to play. To be fair im used to play the original cossacks on fast and starcraft but still, this is by far the slowest playing RTS ive ever played. And theres a lot of empty space in your base once the game progresses, which generates weird defending scenarios imo. In addition theres no reason to fight over objectives. Like resources or tactical advantage points. Walling/towering yourself in and building a wonder seems to be the best strategy at the moment which is pretty boring imo.
Everything takes extremely long, building units, upgrading, improving, everything except moving. This is a problem since you have a short clash of combat and then have to spend ages rebuilding your army
You might argue that this is the point of the game, that you should take care of your army, since you have only one, and kind of play very cautious which would be a fair point but i do not find this type of gameplay interessting. You win some you loose some, you dont want to grind your armies for an hour and micromanage out of artillery fire to loose it once and for all at some point.

No real dynamic combat. Once your behind there is little you can do (or i/my opponents just didnt find it yet)
Cant delete units, and you need certain amounts of workers to progress through the ages, if you built too many soldiers you're f*cked until you murder them somehow (suicide missions, wild animal fodder)

Absolutely amazing game 10/10

For early access its an amaing game, but there is really a lack of content. If you're playing alone this game gives you about 10-20h of gameplay. If you're playing with friends the gameplay could potentially be endless.

I usually hate grindy games but here it didn't bother me at all. You have to grind Wood in the early game and seaweed in the lategame, everything else is more or less easily availible.

I think modding could really make this game shine, in addition id recommend some hostfinding services + voicechat ingame, so you can easily party up.
