Fun but slow and it's easy to get stuck, definitely not for everyone.

The environments, characters are great, the combat is great, the story is great, pretty much everything about this game is at least ok. The only thing that is truly bad about this game is that items have specific stat requirements to equip and may also buff these same stats, meaning that you can have an entire set of gear that requires itself to be equip in order to equip it. Changing one piece of gear can cause the rest of it to fly off your body and become unequipable until you equip a lesser piece of gear that buffs a required stat. The game is fun, but dealing with this system is so obnoctious that I don't want to play it anymore.

Core gameplay loop is ok. But:
weapons are super unbalanced, the minigun outclasses every other weapon and the infamous "shuriken and lightning gun" is is outclassed by the crossbow at long range and the shotgun close range
some levels are obnoxious to get around
cutscenes can be skipped with any input at all, so good luck upping the volume during one
story is terrible anyway
crashes alot, might have something to do with me running windows 10
ladders are ♥♥♥♥♥♥
hit detection is bad at best, the painkiller and the crossbow being the worst offenders
monsters don't react to being hit unless it's killshot, so all weapons feel like they shoot cotton balls until the enemy violently explodes
jumping is more horizontal than vertical, so climbing is a ♥♥♥♥♥
the final boss might as well be in an entirely differant game,
imagine getting to the last boss of Doom and then stopping to play rocket league

90% of the game is spent dead or walking back to the boss arena, takes way to long to get back in the action after death.

A great toy.

Runs out of content way to fast, but amazing while it lasts.

Feels more like a level pack for Hotline Miami 1 than a stand alone game, still great though.

This used to be a negative review, the game grows on you

Absolutely amazing shooter, make sure you check out custom levels on the steam workshop.
