I haven't played this since it first came out, i will firmly state that now.

The direction that Harada and Bandai have gone in for Tekken is genuinely appalling as a long time fan of the series. They want the cheap thrills of making it e-sports hype slop when that was never what Tekken was about. We need to go back to basics, get rid of all the cosmetic stuff and battle pass, this isn't Fortnite. Get rid of the heat system. Get rid of all of the "aggressive" gameplay and go back to why people played Tekken.

Every long term franchise falls into the trap of constantly needing new players when you can make just as much money with the fanbase you've already established. You had a core fanbase, you don't need to be constantly adding to that.

Thought there was going to be more to this game than their actually was. I get its still in development but the vision I'm getting from the developer doesn't make me think this is my kind of game.

Normally I enjoy this game however due to the recent addition of Enigma DRM, which prevents modding, I have to vote down.
I wish the Japanese would understand that modding isn't an inherent evil and there's no cheating in making characters look different. I understand it's a cultural thing where they interpret it as "we can make the game better than you". But the games solely don't just exist in Japan.

This is no longer the game I purchased and thus I cannot recommend it to anyone to buy.
They have chosen censorship over all and either for attention/clout or because of ESG chose to sell out hard and take things out that were pretty much what the game was sold on a decade ago. Things like this should be illegal and I hope they get sued.

If you disagree, I don't care.

Anyone who's saying "it's just about the panty shots" is being purposefully reductive by the way.

This game is bad and especially not good enough for the owner of the IP to be pulling the copyright abuse he is doing.

But in all seriousness, good game

Hey 2K, I know you probably won't read this and are probably focusing way too much on how much money MyFaction could make you. But there's definitely some issues I would like to point out.

1. The fact you have a logic system, but every wrestler wrestles the same unless I personally go in and fix it. It's not my job to make your game, the Fire Pro devs, when adding logic systems to their games, always make sure that the wrestlers in the game should wrestle sort of how they do, maybe not perfectly, but they do use their own logic systems when creating defaults for the games. It's not my job to fix your game.

2. The reversal system seems absolutely borked compared to how it was last year. I've noticed times where I'm unable to reverse anything at all for long stretches of matches, which basically guarantees a loss. This is more likely to happen the higher the difficulty is too. Meanwhile, the AI is able to reverse everything and will reverse everything. There's a difference between making things harder and making things cheap. But this is a flaw with the series as a whole.

3. The whole "MyFaction is worked on by a smaller team, so we can't import the characters in from it" is such an excuse. It's not like the model system is different in that mode to every other mode. Why is it so hard to import character parts?

4.I miss getting a bunch of new indie moves every year, with again no promised "New Moves Pack" this year, you only added like 2-3 moves not used by wrestlers within the WWE. This hampers CAW creation. What is the reason why you've stopped doing it? Is it too expensive to rent the Mocap studio for more time?

5. Some of the tron placements in classic arenas are completely wrong. The smackdown fist arena has the tron playing in the entryway when it should be playing on the screens next to the fist. Then again, that was an issue in the Create An Arena when you tried to use the Fist arena there too. It's a minor detail, I know, but it looks wrong and it bothers me.

Note, this negative review doesn't mean I'm not having fun. I just wanted to point out the absolute laziness of the devs, which is part of a problem with the entire games industry and "sports" genre as a whole (They see these games as sports games, which is why they give the least amount of effort, they think they have the Madden demographic, but they don't realize that Wrestling fans are their own breed). Beyond these little ticks, I am having a good amount of fun. But please, either go back and patch this sort of stuff or fix it in the next game. Just because you think people will buy this game yearly because they feel obligated to, doesn't mean they will stick around. The minor details absolutely matter.

Edit: Because "HOW DARE I ASK FOR AUTHENTICITY" I'm going to bring up more small issues that bother me.

-Wrestlers go for pins and subs way too much, especially on harder difficulties

-The "balancing" section barely changes jack

-It seems that almost all of them have the Achilles Lock for their standing submission. More wrestlers use it than not and that makes no sense since a submission like that should really be for more technical guys

-The personality system created for previous games seems to have gone out the window and they are just words in profiles

I'm allowed to care about details. Getting mad at me because I'm judging a game as a game and not as a secular religion that you consume yearly like some Maddendrone isn't going to change my mind.
Judge your video games harsher. Actually give a ♥♥♥♥.

I thought this was going to be fun but it ends up being a game for ideology to be pushed onto you no matter what answer you pick,
