Hmmm Okay so i bought this game a while ago and play a few hours every now and again.
I was off it for a while and came back recently and i ave to say i was absoloutly loving it! really was 10/10 exactly what i want from a game.

This review would have been 10/10, however i cant do that any more, long story short, some of the bugs waste hours of your time when your playing in survival. buggies falling through the floor, vehicles flaoting in place even when you check theres no clipping.. etc etc..

i built a ship on a survival server and spent about 30 hours on it maybe. i learnt a lot and i have the blueprint saved so i can still play with my ship but i then lost it due to it gettign stuck in teh ground nosedive style before slowly and clangily being dragged into teh depths of teh dirt, taking with it the 40k platinum i had just mined, and as i said, about 30 hours..

Im not knocking the game or the team, just keep working on the stability. :~)

very almost got a ten out of ten until it squeezed my bawls

Early Access Review
absoloutly awesome game for the money i spent. !!
Reminds me of Kenshi. Infact, this is hands down the closest game to kenshi that there is at the moment. when you google "games like kenshi" you get idiot results, its a unique game, until now!
So as similar as it is, this game is also NOT KENSHI, it has an entierly different setting, and the combat has a more 1st/3rd person feel to it then kenshis 3rd/topdown feel.
Loads of brilliant detailing to explore in this game. and i'm certain i'm not playing it right! but its still highly amusing!

THINGS THAT IM HOPING FOR IN THE FUTURE OFF THIS GAME.
- DISMEMBERMENT, I love having crippled survivors in a game like this. and i love crippling my enemies.
- Dedicated servers? idk would be fun to see how that would/could work
- are building books are common as the other books? havn't found one
- Spreadable fire/Ignitable buildings
- The ability to adjust AI party size and Frequency from within the settings menu? as far as i can tell this can only be done when creating a new game?

Anyway brilliant job guys, i feel priveledged to have got this game at this price. i think you could charge a few quid more very soon if not already and people would still be happy.
would be the same to impact this games growth though so up to you guys!! well done, many thanks

Please make Kenshi 2 and make it multiplayer
I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ LOVE THIS GAME SO MUCH. i know the devoloper has no intention of making this multiplayer due to constraints on the engine... but ho ym god if you could make a multiplayer game that felt like this! maybe with a rolling map in the same way that "Last Oasis" has... but this game is truely great so fun and so much potential! i really want to see a KENSHI 2 perhaps on a different engien to allow networking featureS!!

Early Access Review
Hello all!
I want to start by saying i really enjoyed M&B Warband, and i also played loads of and enjoyed, "War of the roses", "Mordhau", "Chivelry" and a variety of TOTAL WAR games. And i feel these are the closest existing "industry leading" games to what the developers are producing here. People interested in this game have normally played atleast one of the other games so ill be making comparisons to features on those games.

I'm also aware that this game is still in development. And that new content is going to be released moving forwards, along with bug fixes and the rest but until then..

Single player

Okay so in the single player it really brings back the M&B warband vibes, which i've missed and is truely a unique game experience at this point. They have improved upon the way the game looks and have made good headway at adding depth
and new features so +1 for that. however
Dialogue
The dialogue options are repeated word for word by many characters, which really ruins immesion- very quick. riding up to looter/scav groups and hearing the same quips/dialogue from each is a little mind numbing.
Beyond the repetition, there is mysogony visable in teh differences in dialogue and gameplay options between male and female leaders. the most obvious of which is "im not a soldier" from all female captains after you defeat them. even tho stood in full armour and fighting. makes no sence...

AI also needs massive work to it before it becomes a fluid play experience. so also does the "command mode".
To explain this further, things like being able to choose a starting formation for your troops to deploy in, so that your raiding of villages/castles you can avoid spawning too close, in no formation. often i'm engaged before i have got my troops into an effective format for them to advance.

even if you do have time to get your troops ready, its then impossible to immerse yourself in combat whilst controlling your troops. They have no initiative, and no way to delegate command, so they respond for themselves. for example its impossible/or (not obvious at all) to tell your archers to stop moving and engage the enemy the moment they come into range . You could use commands such as fire at will to get round this in part. however you still end up with a unit of archers that will not retreat until they are in melee combat where they get slaughtered.

Trying to move troops around inside castels villages can be an actual nightmare and you may end up loosing troops ( even ones with shields) because tehy stand still and dont even protect themselves from archers etc, because tehy cant figure otu what theyre doing or where they are going, because they're trying to stick in "formation" to where you told them to move. ♥♥♥♥ like that.. Also troops running through enemy troops without engaging because thyre going to the marker you set 30 seconds ago and the battlefield has since changed , they then get mown down without even trying to protect themselves. irritating if you spent hours training them/ fighting peeps ...

Sometimes in the castles people are not standing where they're meant to be, and animations flicker and go wrong, i often see kings or lords or whomever standing facing the wrong direction , jumping between standing normally and leaning on invisible objects. not all the time but multiple times in my first 20 hours..

The multiplayer element of this game is also... so so ?
It feels really flashy and the engine feels nice! however the way the spawn system works is terrible, i get spawn killed all teh time in this game. spawn. horsee thunder/ dead spawn , crossbow bolt to face, dead. on and on and on. imo it needs reworking.
Character/role selection.
This is aweful in my opinion and one of my least favourite things about your new game.
Basically there are about 5-6 different factions, and in each faction there are classes like you would expect. these are not editable in game and have set loadouts. as far as i can see tehre is very little choice for customisng your character/equipment and you have to buy into the better classes as the game goes on. im not entirely sure hoqw teh money works tho as sometimes i have had many kills, died once, had spawn options and then died again and i can only spawn as a peasant? then get no kills and can spawn as a n archer... so im not really following how that works and anywayyyyyy nobody ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ asked for that. thats not what we want.
Sure make your class presets for each faction. i like that. but give the player the ability to unlock and practice with specific weapons, even if you cant afford your custom class at teh start fo teh match. every kill you get should give you money and you can use your money to decide what you spawn with,. - ngl its obviously a simpler and better system. that allows teh players to play how they want and develop their play style.. thats why its used in every other hack and slash game. dont mug us off.

Movement
This is an issue in single player as well. movement feels clunky and sluggish. and sure that makes sence if your weighed down by armour but as a light armour wearing archer it would be nicer to move faster then 4-5 Mph when you want to escape a fat ♥♥♥♥ with a big axe and plate armour.
Secondly NOBODY AND I MEAN NOBODY ASKED FOR THE TOGGLE SPRINTING MECHANIC
NOBODY ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ WANTs it like bruh this isnt 2007 anymore. there is a precedent that you have shift to sprint, and its active when the button is pushed. and then stops when its not. which make as a lot more sence. if you want to make it a more complicated system with more going on then you can add an exertion/stamina bar. go for it.
But yeah the way the "sprinting" / "running " works in this game makes me want to shove a lance up my *** and jump off a castle wall.
its not indie, its not creative, its not new, it is However Sh** and dated.

Lobbies
Game hardly has any concurrent players on multiplayer. at any given point you can expect to see maybe 4-6 servers with population on them, total pop normally under 200 players. one off the main reasons for this is that at teh end of the game you get thrown back to the main menu. and have to search and sort your 5-6 active servers again and spot which one all the players are jumping on to. not great...

to be honest theres loads more issues but my brain is turning to mush trying to write this review and i don't have all day to spend on it.. soo to try and summarise it.
Its a good start to a sequel to Warband. it feels great and responds well on my computer. there are some good ideas for new content mixed in with plenty of ♥♥♥♥ ones, and poor priorities as far as i can tell from the dev team.

Also i have waited until a long time after early access release to buy this game. in an attempt to avoid bugs. however coming to this game, almost a year after its early release and still finding it in a "just about" playable state with only 5 populated servers. Its deffinatly not worth the 30-40 £ i payed for it you'd be better of in many ways with warband.

P.S i have this feeling that alot of the obsesive players, and maybe half the devs are really sweaty, and the devs especially should be thinking about what is going to make this game have any factor of play ability over time. give the majority of players what they want. instead of giving a couple of nerds that spent too long on duel servers on various games what they want.
and then when your done doing that normalise all your clunky backwards features
then apply yourself into fixing relevant bugs./ glitches/ and adding/fixing more complicated content as a priority
its sad when a long wait ends in disappointment. and i am disappointed..

i don't want to say its an aweful game because its not. parts of it are great and i still have high hopes for this game. and need to keep playing some more.
But devs need to work harder/ and or charge less for this incomplete game.
But if your just buying or about to buy, prepair to be annoyed
