My feelings on this game are complicated.

On the one hand its a very competent tactical shooter that is a successor to SWAT 4, which even today, is still a banger and if you wish to see how influential it is, i recommend Face Full of Eye's video, he does a very good job of explaining why SWAT 4 is revered (as it should be) and just like SWAT Ready or Not does a very good job at telling its story, its alot more subtle and if you don't pay attention to the missions and evidence you find or S rank the levels you may not even catch on there is a story or conspiracy, which works thematically, that's intentional.

On the other hand, the behaviour of the developers makes me sick.

- Use of AI assets in certain levels
I understand using them as placeholder assets when figuring out what kind of aesthetic you wanna go for certain levels, but this having been released in 1.0 and still having those VERY OBVIOUSLY AI generated assets makes me sick, are you telling me you self published this game, sold over a million copies, AND YOU CANNOT HIRE A SINGLE ARTIST TO DO YOUR ASSETS FOR YOU? I get that only a few assets may be AI generated, but its just "A few bad apples that ruin the bunch" I look at everything in the game and have to check if its AI generated, i ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hate this, what do you mean you cant afford a proper artist?

- Promised features not being introduced
Back in the day, the devs had promised tactical ladders, drones, snipers, how many of these are in the game? None of them, to this day with the 1.0 release, none of this is in the game, and does not look like it will be introduced any time soon, more work for modders i guess.
I would also like to add, there are numerous bugs still in the game that just prevent you from getting an S, an obvious example being in the mission "Ends of the earth" the suspects getting stuck in the cubbies in the attic (idfk what those spaces are called) and they cannot be bought to surrender non lethally. Im sure the comments are going to fill me in with more, but this game just does not look ready for a 1.0 release.

- Censorship
Things like changing "Photos of minors" to "Photographic evidence", the little girl OD'ing in her bed that you cannot help is now just sleeping peacefully, there are more examples to this but i have gone on for long enough. Isn't this game supposed to shock you and make you think about how the ruling class are ruining our society and police officers who "Just follow orders" end up enforcing the status quo and protecting the people who ruin society the most??? Isnt it important for us to somewhat be shocked by what we as a cop end up doing despite being the good guy? I don't think its bad that we have clothes on the crazy people that try to kill us, and the human trafficking victims, putting underwear on them is a great way to ensure people can still stream the game and not get banned or restricted for it.

My point? It should have been an option, hell, a dedicated streamer mode to not show any nudity or more ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up ♥♥♥♥ that might get content creators flagged would have been great, because IT WOULD HAVE BEEN AN OPTION.

TL:DR: game itself is... good? It wasn't ready for a 1.0 release, content moderation could have been done better and multiple promised features are not introduced.

It is a crime that this game does not have a transmog system.

Game is still awesome tho.

The splinter cell game ubisoft will never give us.

OSRS visuals coupled with slow paced first person combat

THIS GAME IS PEAK.

Some things still need to be fleshed out, like the online distribution platforms, but its neat.

You ever play a game like POE or Borderlands, or anything with character building to make an OP build and go:

"Darn, i wish there was more theory crafting"

Well look no more!

Path of Achra is basically an "OP BUILD SANDBOX" with a 1000+ combinations and its basically all theory crafting, personally, theorycrafting is the part i enjoy the most of these broken build sandbox games so if you're like me, you will get something out of this.

You like eldritch horror and messing with things beyond mortal comprehension don't you?

This game is WHOLLY unique, i cant say much about it, its fun, its addicting, and really difficult mostly because you wont have any idea what the ♥♥♥♥ your doing but sooner or later it makes sense

No longer selling the game in countries where PSN isnt available

this restriction is also applied to Ghosts Of Tsushima Directors Cut and possibly every single upcoming sony pc port

corporations suck, ♥♥♥♥ em.

Good game.

Definitely needs some more polish, but the groundwork is pretty good, if you like XCOM and medieval strategy games i would say keep an eye on this.
