I fired this old gem up for nostalgia's sake. went to the control settings and went "oh... yeah... i remember how bad this was now..." Go ahead, try to change the controls to something that makes sense. "Up, Down, Left, Right..." nope.... "W,S,A,D?" Nope... okay, let me get my controller.. Calibrate and... oh, it's never calibrated well enough to change your controls. the moment you select the control you want to chage it's now "joy1 up." What's the solution, go into the game files and find the keymap and change it my dang-self with text editor. But why can't the company who i payed money for the game do this? I mean i did it in 5 minutes, why wouldn't the people trying to make money off this game spend MINUTES adding modern sensibility into this game?

Early Access Review
What can I say; I bought this game very cheap while it was still in early access. At 1,500 hours in, I've gotten insane value for this game. But what I love about this game has very little to do with the game's developers. The competitive league and the community is what really makes this game great. But the core, itself, the actual game has been going down hill for a while. First was with a major asset change to the game, when they added the 50 caliber sniper (not needed), swapping the AK74u for the PP Bizon, and adding the FAMAS (to cheap for it's TTK). Then they added the custom servers. This may be an unpopular decision, but now we have even less participation in S&D game mode in favor of servers that the game don't play as well in full of clowns and half naked dudes. Just stand back and watch it for 10 seconds and you'll see how this game is becoming more of a meme than the serious competitive game that the regular active players of the game actually come for. And the next few updates after that? More game modes that most people will play once or twice before losing interest. Time could have been better spent on the core of the game. If the senior game developer is going to treat it's workshop content creators so poorly (THE reason most of it's active players are here) then they should make more maps! We've gone from a small handful of maps to still only a handful of maps in several years and it's not impressive. Do better, and #freejohncletus

This is merely an okay game. Fun game for those new to VR and just looking for experiences. Sadly Rebellion made this game and a HD remake of 1998's Battlezone at the same time. If they had remade Battlezone 1998 into a VR game with an emphasis on competitive squad/team play, it would have been one of the best games to come out for the VR platform. But, instead, we got this..
