This game is OK. It's worth playing for the story and all the possible endings, but not for the survival elements.

First of all, you will not feel lonely in the game at all. This game tries to create a barren world with no signs of human, except Jan, our protagonist, so that the contradiction would supposedly make the player feel lonely. This would play an important part and lead to make decision makings. However, the story will force you to make contact with a lot of people. All kinds of people would call you, and Alters would bother you everyday for even the smallest thing. This feels more like a management sim instead of a survival game.

Second, the environment design feels very bland. Each act happens in a different environment, but there were very few new things to explore. Sure, the terrain gets more complicated and you will need to plan the pylon route a little bit, tracing planet samples would take a bit to finish. But that's not really a challenge. Every time you enter a new area, you just walk around, find all resource deposit, set up outposts and you are done exploring.

Same thing to the construction system. in Act 2, there would be a difficult time when you had to research a lot of technologies to progress, unlocking a lot of modules that are required by alters. Some modules are crucial because they can stabilize alter's mood and prevent them from rebellion, but once you get pass that point, the module is pretty much useless. I fully expanded my base by the time I enter Act3, but I never needed to use all the extra space. Becasue as long as I have the necessary modules, I will progress anyway.

The last problem of this game, is that it is a story driven game. The survival system is really shallow. It's basically dependent on the alters you pick, rather than anything else you do. I would ask those looking for a survival game to not buy this game. unless enjoying the story is what you also like to do.

This game is an tower defense game first, then an RTS with survival elements.
Pros:
This game provides fabulous tower defense experience. Seeing swarms of enemies coming to your city and get blown away by explosions is really satisfying. The art style is good, catches the gist of characters. Voice over is really funny, probably my favorite part of this game. Cut scenes are great, and have some humor here and there. Unit descriptions are also interesting and gives you a smile from time to time. The campaign allows you to choose different sides to fight for, which decides the end of the story and what levels you will play. The whole campaign lets you write an old fashion medieval adventure story. I would definitely replay the campaign and try out all choices, but in easy mode of course. reasons below.

Cons:
The core of this game is tower defense, not RTS. Defending is way way more easier than attacking, because putting units on walls or towers gives them extra range. When defending against thousands of units, these come in handy. However, when player is attacking, these become nightmares.
One example: This game gives trebuchets as long range siege weapon, but it has very low damage(45) and doesn't out-range enemy siege on towers. I've played Age of Empires a lot so I couldn't help comparing these two. AOE trebuchets also have low base damage, but they have bonus damage against buildings, making them very good at taking down fortifications with thousands of hp. Not to mention cannons will make it even faster. In late games when player is told to attack fortifications, I had to make dozens of trebuchets to take down one tower with 3000 hp, with 5 more enemy siege throwing from miles away at my units. I'm only playing on 2nd difficulty(challenge accepted), and some levels would take me hours to finish.

Over all I like this game, you can build, defend, enjoy the story, and it's a great experience.

It's a surprisingly good game. It has RTS elements such as battlefield fog, real time combats and resource management, but also simplified them so it doesn't take too much time to learn the game. The detailed explanation for everything in the game when you first encounter them also helps. the prologue also gives you a few deploys to learn everything step by step. As a RTS fan, I like how the game play is, It's simple but have some depth to it, and I don't have to learn everything to finish the story.

However, one thing I dislike about is the controls. all squad members move as a whole, yet the enemy detection is for each individual, and I didn't see a way to adjust the position of the marine I need to use (usually the recon for sniping). I wish they allow the control of a individual marine.

The story is very "Alien" style, no bs romance, just human trying to survive under the infestation. you can adjust the difficulty during game so it wouldn't be hard to go through the game at all. if you want a challenge, the game also provides a new game+ option for addition challenge and upgrades available.

I wish there's more IP turned games like this.

This game is one unique experience, people that are into this genre will like it a lot, while others will not.
1. The first 2 hours into the game is the definition of cognitive overload. The 3 scientists kept feeding you information about the lore while you are trying to learn the basic aspects of the game. The game doesn't pause by default when you are in the inventory menu, so you will hear them talking when you repair your car, salvage scraps, dealing with anomalies, etc. In short, it's a distracting way of storytelling, and I wish they put it in a better way.
2. The game play, like some people said, is a deploy-loot-extract type of play. sort of like Escape from Tarkov, except you don't lose everything if you fail, and there is no PVP so the difficulty can be tuned down a lot. There is survival element, but if you play in the normal difficulty it's not really an issue. I've never died during my play through, and the only time I had to abandon trip was because I didn't read route planner and ran into a dead end.
3. the UI in this game is a mix of OK and horrible. UI for the tinker station and detailing station are some of the worst I've ever seen. One being extremely bright colors (white and blue) and one being extremely red. I could barely see the text in these to stations, so I almost never used detailing station, and only used tinker station when I had to.
4. Quirks, are annoying af. It's weird behaviors your car develops as you progress through the zone, and you have to observe it carefully in order to put in the symptoms in the tinker station, and then get a fix for that. problem is, the car can leave the auto shop perfect, and have weird quirks as soon as it enters the first junction. there is zero way for you to deal with that while in the zone. You either have to rush to the portal and go back to fix it, or pray that it doesn't drive your car down hill and pop 2 doors 3 tires in the process. diagnosing it is also not fun, at least for me.
5. The story of the game is actually somewhat good. The voice actors are putting in their effort to make their characters stand out. I will definitely enjoy the story better, if only the story telling can be combined with game play better. The atmosphere and environment designs are fantastic. If you like road trips, you will definitely enjoy the visuals.
Overall it's a decent game. You will face everything by yourself, but somehow you never feel alone. you can do a tons of customization on your car, and you will meet a lot of interesting anomalies.

This game is made by one person. Respect to him and look forward to more great work from him.

I was able to clear this game on high difficulty in 2 hrs with 60 death, the overall experience is worth the money, albeit I received for free, I would definitely buy this game as a gift to my friends.

The story tells basically nothing, but it doesn't really matter since this action game puts its focus on the fighting mechanics. shooting is good enough for an indie game like this. sword fighting is very smooth and satisfying and very powerful, although many locked skills don't really have their place when it comes to boss fight, spamming E is usually the way to go.

The enemies have a decent amount of variations and they are not dumb, melee enemies all have good movements and it makes blocking an easy work. Bosses can give you a really hard time if you don't read their movements. But it can be a short fight if you are a good Dark Soul player good at performing sequence of parries.

The level design is not the best, in fact there are some movements that barely got used after they were introduced. The map gives you very limited space to progress and there is no second way for you to reach the destination. The stealth mission was affected by this limitation the most since you basically have only one way through and it does not feel fun.

Overall I'd say this game have a lot of room for improvement and I'd love to see either more content added into this one or a better sequel. One man army in development desires respect, but getting help for level design, weapon design, character modeling, etc would make the game feel complete. please keep up the good work.

This less-than-1G game in 2021 is one of the few games that make me smile from heart when I achieve something. Good game, Good potential, buy it or regret.

After reading some recent reviews, I feel like it's necessary to stand out and defend for my favorite game.
All I'm saying now is the truth.
First of all, after the phase 2 update the tutorial for new players is "optimized" compared to the old one , and it does tell you the basic mechanic of the game. But after the tutorial and few mandatory PVE games you have to save 11k for enforcer, which is an expert level CQB(close quarter battle) ship. I see players firing enforcer's weapon to their enemies 10k+ units away everyday. Pioneer, venturer and sentinel are good starter ships, we need them back.

Second, as you level up you will unlock the crew system and implants, you get crew member from drops pods which can be obtained up to 4 everyday( login reward+6games) and you need DNA which can be obtained from drop pods as well to fill the "template" if the crew. You can buy these things from store of course, but new players defenitely can use 1 million credits on better place(new ships). The implant system, has its own rule and it's actually a small buff to the ship whiteout breaking the game. For those who complain about implants here is my reason:
Every crew member cannot have 2 same implants, so the "put 10 damage reduction implants on crew and make the ship unkillable" is nonsense. Every implant only gives a small amount of bug to the ship, like 0.8% attack damage, -2% jump prep, 2% repair effeciency. It's really not a big deal because the team combination is mor important. 2 "unkillable" colossus or gladiator with 2 CQB ships will still be bashed by sniper and mobility comb.
Third, the ship balance, in current gameplay there are several ships being overpowered( e.g. Displacer paladin) ECG(the developer) already did several adjustments in the past months, and there will be more in the future. As I climb up to 1900mmr these ships are overwhelmingly powerful in the right hands, and some ships are inferior comparing to them( enforcer , presecutor comparing to brawler) . BUT, there are so few people that can really dominate game and new players below 1k mmr hardly have a chance to meet them, why don't you spend time on getting used to this game and play the ships you are good at while waiting for the next balance update?

Finally I want to express some personal opinions: this is a good game, but small player base makes it hard to provide a good experience like you get from other moba games. It is free2play, it worth trying, if you like it, give it a good review, if you don't like it, write reason upon truth. We know about he game so we don't care about your yelling, but you are stopping those who don't know about this game from playing it. Be kind please
