I guess 27 hours of playing this game is a pretty decent amount of time to leave a review.

First things first: THE SPAWNPOINT. Imagine you waited through the queue of 100500 players, spent half a decade to just get to play the game, and the following happens. You spawn at point A, and your friend spawns 5 kilometers from you. You think to yourself that, huh, it's not a big deal. You'll get your first mount and ride to your friend in 5 minutes, provided he does the same. Forget it. This game does not have any mounts at all. Wanna lvlup? Walk. Wanna pvp? Walk. Wanna meet your friend? Walk. Wanna tp somewhere? Walk to the nearest city or portal point and then tp. Oh it's 10 minutes from you? Good, you have plenty of time, don't you? And the developers justify this mountless experience by saying: "No beasts of burden on Aeturnum". LOL why not "No weapon of violence on Aeturnum", and remove the weapons, because the world is so beautiful and it has no place for violence, let's shake hands and play snowballs. Or "No cells of brain on Aeturnum"? Oh wait, your character really lacks some, because he can't even SWIM. Yeah, you just walk on the surface of the bottom, no matter how deep the water is. Gigachad developers have just beaten the Archimedes principle, and, certainly, the common sense.
Another big con is THE PVP. Yes, the pvp itself is good, technically speaking. It has its lags, bugs, and stuff, but it's good. However, there is no diversity in character classes. The whole time I played, I didn't see a single character wearing a sword and a shield. Only a few mages pop up here and there. Okay, let's imagine it's not an issue and each class has its own balanced "fanbase". Here come the "3 spells a class" mechanics. How skilled should you be to play 2-handed axe and berserker's axe? The answer is: you can play it with your feet. And the most ridiculous thing is mobility. No class in this game has insane mobility, they are all balanced in this aspect. You can't just chase and kill people, or use your 1000000$ mount(the word mount for amazon is like half-life 3 for valve) and kill people. You can only chase, and chase, and chase, and eventually your oponent leads you to his clan members who beat the ♥♥♥♥ out of you in a second.
What about battleground pvp? Forget about it until you reach lvl 60 :) And there is no 1v1 arena either. Thank god the game has duels.
The third BIG con is unlinear quests. The quests in this game make you travel ridiculous distances just to kill 5 boars, and after you've done it, they make you travel back where you started 5 hours ago to kill some more boars. Why can't you just make it linear, and add some small npc camps between the location capitals, that will be used as checkpoints. Why are all the juicy quests concentrated in the big cities? What a discrimination of rural life... "Linear" does not necessarily mean BAD. In the case of mmos "linear" means intuitive and easy to follow, which makes people's experiences 100x more enjoyable.

New World doesn't feel like a released version of a mmo game from Amazon. Right now it feels more like a closed beta of a game from a small gamedev company that somehow managed to hire splendid artists and great game designers. The game lacks HEALTHY ideas. It's so sad to see 600k people being a part of a huge hypothesis in modern gamedev called "New World".

3k hours and 5k mmr....yet I had to quit. The community is terrible and nothing is done but improve matters. People feed 5 games in a row, and then create a new account when they get "low priority" on the previous one. Mixed with all the recent patches transforming the game into a much easier game, which is a pro if you're new, but ultimately becomes a con if you continue playing consistently.

There are 3 "MMR" (matchmaking rating) scores in the game - your solo and party MMR, which check how solid you perform in a solo and a team environment, but there is also a hidden third "MMR", visible only by opening the console and typing:
"developer 1"
"dota_game_account_debug" (all without ")

This score for example tracks how "friendly" you are. It is a 0-10.000 score, 0 being cancer and 10k being the friendliest person on the Earth, and the score should award you with more friendly players in the team. HOWEVER, abandoning a single game decreases this score so hard that you need like a month to regain it. Now, game ruiners who feed intentionally, flame and then get punished by having to play a certain (usually 5) number of games in the "low priority" quene, in the current patch I'm writing for which is 7.05 CANNOT be reported in low prio. That means that you can feed 1000 games in a row by going 0-50 and your friendliness score will INCREASE because you're getting no reports. In League of Legends, should you feed like 10 games in a row, you would get permabanned. Here...nothing.

The community is awful and honestly ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Do you know one drill sergeant in the army who's a friendly guy and isn't an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥? Yeah, that's the likehood of finding a friendly player in this community, especially in ranked matchmaking.

FINAL THOUGHTS: Should you start playing this game, it will become a black hole which sucks in all your time, health and money but does not reward you with anything...except wasted time. Just think about it - how many hours do you need to complete a university semester? And how many hours you need to reach 6k-7k mmr to somehow transform this game into a business? Think about it... and once you get bored of the game, after having spent thousands of hours (like most Dota players), you will realize how well you've spent the ONLY life you have. We all create our fate - choose wisely.
