Yeah, this is the combat flight sim with multiplayer that's actually accessible I've always wanted. Awesome fun

People looking for a city/factory builder that you should be able to easily survive will be disappointed here. The game doesn't hold your hand, space is brutal.

Having just completed the game, the first 3 chapters I was barely keeping my head above the water, I even got an achievement for how close I was to death. Once I really stabilised though, man, I was ignorant thinking I had it all under control for what the finale would throw at me. Pulled it through, at great cost, and I am super satisfied with the game as a whole.

Manage what you can, turn stuff off you dont need, plan ahead, make sure you always have resources coming in. Make a few saves if you're really uncertain and don't want to be restarting so you can rewind and learn from mistakes.

The review bombing after the developers mentioned that they are scrapping existing singleplayer plans to re-evaluate and make something that works better is a real shame, because this is one of the best strategy and simulation games I have played, period.

This game is spectacular fun, with tight fleet building mechanics that allow for a wide range of creative ways to play. I cannot recommend this game enough, and I hate it when review bombing catches a rare gem because people jump on a rage band-wagon.

If you want to play the cancelled conquest mode, the developer released it in it's current state for you to try for yourself!

Deep Rock Galactic is a Co-op game that Truly deserves it's reputation.

This game is a well done 4X with a few unique twists here and there, yet despite this, it is left feeling somewhat empty. The asking price for what you get is absurd.

Incredible. The consequences of decision making is what makes this game special. The soundtrack is brilliant, the story is great, the characters are all memorable. Toby Fox you deserve all the praise you've recieved.

A true, modern Homeworld experience, BBI did a great job.

The campaign, though only moderately lengthy, is fantastic. Great cutscenes, story and progression. The whole way through the singleplayer is a blast.

The combat in Kharak is simplistic but well refined, and follows basic unit-counter mechanics alongside the strategic use of the terrain itself (line of sight and height advantages). It's also awesome to watch a clash of assorted dune-machines blast away at each other, presentation is top notch. The atmosphere this game has with its audio is also second-to-none in the RTS department.

Unfortunately the multiplayer community took a large and rather devastating explosive warhead on launch when the game was tied to Steam region-based matchmaking servers. This region-locked the community, and alongside a few multiplayer connection bugs that prevented games starting in the first place the online playerbase plummeted, you couldn't reliably find and play a game. A shame this is, as Kharak's multiplayer is actually really good. It's a fast paced, skillful and sleek tactical RTS arena.

Due to the (now fixed) initial multiplayer launch issues and resultant lack of players, if you want to have a multiplayer game you'll need to go hunting for people in the forums or on steam etc. I have accumulated a small bunch of Steam friends who I can play a game with on a regular basis, but you need to go hunting, trying to search solo will net negative results.

Ultimately I would recommend Deserts of Kharak to any fan of the Homeworld series or RTS genre, although perhaps not at full price. A game you should pick up during a sale without hesitation.
