I don't want to dismiss that this is a beautiful and satisfying game about creating a wonderfully looking world. It is, and I loved it when I booted it up.

But it simply lacks depth, it needs more

This game works by building objects around a map full of resources and gathering points for more of them through it, you can try to stack around for bigger and bigger boosts, it really is enjoyable, there's also a tooltip with building combinations that will merge into even better looking large multi-tile objects.
The issue is, the large buildings don't really do much more aside from being just additional points, for example, you can create a district from four houses arranged in a 4 tile combination, or surround a well with wheat and houses to turn it into a 7 tile farm estate, but that's it, that's how they stay... wouldn't it be logical and even cool if 4 districts together created an even more advanced structure? How about surrounding a church or a couple of markets with districts to create a beautiful looking huge square? There's a really nice pre-planning tool for you but it doesn't really serve you a purpose if the biggest thing you're gonna build is only 7 tile hexagon, and even if you want to plan out every single 1-tile building, the micro-management required for it is too tedious.
It simply needs something more...
Think of those mobile merger games but with actual brainwork required

Then there's the progression tree. In this game you build buildings given you by the techs you unlock in a linear fashion, with a couple of branches available, imagine something like Civilization technology tree, you start with basic food, and then get into food processing buildings, then you get textile manufacturing
The issue is, you get to the end of the tree at 4th tile and... that's it, nothing beyond that, nothing new, it's just that.... on top of that you have a 6 tech limit, so out of already sparse 12 or 14 techs you are locked into having only half of those, robbing you of more ways to expand you world

And then, there's the general lack of purpose
I get that this is intended to be a "Townscaper" type of game but... I wish there was more, I wish there were limits, requirements and demands that evolve over time, you can build a city on one side of the map, and farms on the other side, you can also just stick to one tech without building anything else at all, just spam the most basic buildings until you run out of place or out of points for more of them.
I wish I was restricted to building with more complexity, with more obligations to the system. I wish I had to satisfy certain demands to be able to build specific industries, and that if I wanted to build more, the demands would keep increasing more. I wish I had to expand around the starting capital, build and plan ahead with proximity and perhaps simple supply chains in order to get as efficient point gains as I could

I enjoy this game
But it simply lacks depth that it needs

Sit down and relax
This isn't a game where you have to break your mind over how to get through it
This isn't a game where you have to rush through
This isn't a game where you need to stress
Just
Sit down
And enjoy the gorgeous music as it expands along with you as you connect more stations

Me: Yeah sure

Mom: Did you do what I asked for?
Me: Yeah
Mom: Ok so where is the ketchup?
Me whispering: F*ck I played too much Hotline Miami

Polecam

P.S. Uwaga na Shreka ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
