Enjoyed this, as I have the rest of The Room series. Quite the reveal at the end!!!

Puzzles weren't too difficult, tried not to use the hints, but there were a couple of occasions where it was a little bit of a stretch to solve the puzzle without a completely wild guess or using the hints. I enjoy this series for both the puzzle and the storyline, simplistic and linear as it is. Just a nice game to sit down in the evening and immerse yourself in without much stress.

Early Access Review
Have been playing this through pre-Alpha, and happy with where it is! The music and storyline I really enjoy, they fill out the game nicely and provide quite a dynamic lore through the character interactions. The artwork is pretty good for my money...a lot of games in this style don't really have quality artwork, but Vidar has done an excellent job in that regard.

I think one of the cooler parts of the game is that the game story randomizes, and each night a different person (or more) dies, which changes trigger points, dependencies, and alters the storyline, providing replayability you don't normally see in an RPG (or at least I haven't).

Controls are simple and robust. My only knock is that because it is currently in Early Access, there are some bugs out there, and changes are still being made that when your game updates, you may have to re-start a save file due to format changes. If you can live with that, and like the old-school feel of RPGs back to the days of Ultima 3&4, or even the old Sega Genesis JRPGs, I think you will enjoy this game. I am!

Full Disclosure - I was a Kickstarter backer.

I enjoy quirky games that have a sense of humour and aren't overly-complicated. And I enjoy mysteries. I enjoyed these aspects of the game, and I do recommend it, but there are some caveats.

The concept of the different ammunition in the game is a great one, and makes the game simple, provides many possibilities for problem solving, and is kinda cool. But the way it was implemented drove me bonkers. When in a room and needing to use different ammunitions, sometimes the puzzle would require three or four of a particular type, then you would have to switch out to a different one (or two), do something with them, and then switch back. Granted, I'm sure in hindsight that I could have streamlined that and analyzed the problem and come up with a more efficient ammunition usage, but who wants to do that? Swapping out the ammunition is such an annoying mechanic, it would be much easier to put in some sort of ammo configuration and swap to it with a button or hotkey.

Still on the ammunition, some of the proximity/mapping of where you are in relation to the target object is sometimes not very precise. Trying to light something on fire sometimes takes three or four tries...needlessly frustrating.

If you watched my let's play of this series, I get quite angry with the controller response -- PLEASE do not take that as a negative on this game. That was a problem with my PC that was registering a button press multiple times and just causing no end of frustration for me. I finally figured it out, so the controller response was fine in the game, my only beef is with the mechanic behind the way you reloaded and chose ammunition for the gun. There were a few spots where precision is required and I'll chalk my difficulties there to poor hand coordination and not knock the game on it.

With the exception of one puzzle, which turned out to be a side-quest, and not necessary to complete the main story line, the puzzles vary from easy to hard, but not too hard. I think I relied on hints two or three times through the series, one of which was for the impossible-to-solve-so-I-didn't-side-quest, and in hindsight if I'd used common sense and had more patience I would have eventually solved them on my own. There were a few "tasks" which I'll group into the puzzle category, that made you revisit the maze of levels in parts of the game I'd much prefered to not have to go back down into the bowels for, but it wasn't too onerus, just time consuming...would change that in a future game.

I don't mean this in a negative way...the game was simple, and has a simple design. That is part of its charm...there aren't all these different button combos, and it is a unique story and setting. Aside from some of the criticisms above, I did enjoy this game. If you lack patience, or are prone to give up on stuff if you get mildly frustrated, then this probably isn't the game for you. But if you give it a chance, especially if you like cats (I don't, ironically), then I think you will get a lot of enjoyment from this game.

It's a simple, quirky, funny mystery with cats and guns.

This was such an amazing game. I see people not recommending it for various reasons, but I have a mid-range PC and this game ran fine, however I did bump down to 720p while recording episodes. Otherwise it ran fine at 1080p. I have never had a problem with uPlay, so the people complaining about that...would take that with a grain of salt.

If you are into history surrounding the War, you will enjoy this game more than the average gamer. The gameplay is fairly simple, with a few midly-challenging steer-away-from-danger sections, and some challenging puzzles, but nothing over the top. The narrator's voice was perfect for this game, and the sound effects were great as well.

I had some weak moments through the game where I had to use a hint, but I don't think the puzzles were entirely unfair. A couple were borderline, but I don't know if that was just me or the puzzle not telling me enough.

I can't say enough how well I thought the story was told, how it flowed to tie each character together, and to convey emotion which is sometimes difficult. And I absolutely loved the style of graphics for this.

I thoroughly enjoyed this game. Some parts were pretty tough, however for the most part the gameplay was simple but effective. I cannot wait for the sequel to this!

Good game, compelling and trajic storyline. The game is very linear, and dare I say "easy", on the other hand the game mechanics were quite unique. Obstacles involve co-operative work between your left hand and your right hand (if you are using a controller) as you control both brothers at the same time. Took some getting used to, but it makes this game worthwhile. And the story. They don't speak a language I understand, but the story was easy to follow, and interesting. Definitely worth a play as a sale game. I'd give it a 7/10.

I really enjoyed this game. If you enjoy logic puzzles, you should enjoy this. Some of the puzzles were really hard to figure out and I did resort to using a guide on a couple of occasions, but after seeing the solution, I felt guilty. Patience and walking away from the problem will usually help you out. Artwork and atmosphere were awesome. Can't recommend this game enough for puzzle people!

Early Access Review
I started this game when it was just subtitles. Since an upgrade patch to add voice (at least in English), I've found I enjoy the feel of the game more. Gameplay is pretty good, though the controls can be clunky at times...directional jumping and bow/spell targetting can be annoying, but overall gameplay is pretty smooth. Lots of styles of combat to explore, but I limit myself to melee. The magic system does look to be pretty good. The storyline and breadth of the game is well done, if off-colour at times. Juvenile and vulgar humour, but then I tend to like that sort of thing. I have not completed the game yet, but I am definitely looking forward to the last stretch. This review only applies to the single player mode...I have not tried multiplayer.

Gameplay isn't hard, though it does follow the "find and click" model. I played and enjoyed this game for the story, which had a great plot twist. I'm not sure if there were any decisions I made that impacted the storyline or not, but I found the interface of the game serving as a vehicle to progress the story. And it was a great story. If you like mysteries and methodical gamepley, this is right up your alley! I really hope King Art/Nordic do another game like this.
