From the moment I saw a very early video of this game on YouTube with just the taxi driving around in the beautiful city with an amazing atmosphere I was hoping the game would be that good. And it was, eventually.

The first time I tried it, the controls were weird, and on foot you could only see from one direction regardless of where you walked, and only in third person.

When I tried it again after a few updates, all the controls (mouse, keyboard and on controller) could be remapped, which made everything much better, and you could change the camera as you wanted while on foot, even first person. But me crashing into everything I fly near made me want to be able to fly in first person as well, and now they have added the cockpit update, so now, as far as I am concerned, the game is perfect.

It's a very beautiful game with amazing atmosphere and a great visual style that feels great to play, and I like all the small stories you learn of throughout the game with all the different characters you run into either in the main story, or some side mission.

Highly recommended if you like the cyberpunk genre and want a relaxing single player game to play through.

Now imagine this game as a MMORPG.

A masterpiece of a game. Both single player and GTA Online, but ruined by greed.

This is such a great game. Take a bit to get used to it, but it just gets better and better. Voice chat is highly recommended! This is great for both watching and playing. By far the best game for the money, and could have cost a lot more and still be worth it.

A great game to chill with, and it has a nice variety of tracks. The weapons are also mostly fastifying to use, and the sense of speed can be very good. If you don't like the music (I did), you can get the game to play your own music by pointing it to your music folder. I have a feeling it can be fun online with friends too, as it's extra fun blowing people up when they're your friend :D

When I start this, it makes my PC lag for a few minutes, then it starts Uplay... I bought this to play it on Steam, not Uplay.

Multi-player

I played 20 hours of the open beta, and now after release, for the most part, multiplayer is about the same. And for being an arena shooter (Quake, Unreal Tournament, the old Doom games), it's not nearly as enjoyable as those games. I love the customizing, except you only see other's customizing in the match making, when someone kill you, and the three best players of the match, so it's not very visible in the game.

There doesn't seem to be a free for all mode, where everyone just kills just everyone, no duel mode, you start with two pre-selected weapons and a tool (grenade, or other thing), and you can only pick up one weapon in-game (the Gauss), if you switch away from this, you drop it. There should have been modes with the old kind of weapons all over the maps, and you have to run around to pick them up. I also miss knock-back, so people are moved by being hit like in the Quake games, now the weapons feels like they have no impact, but you see damage numbers, so you know they do damage. It's all very 'meh' in my opinion.

And from what I can see, the DLCs will be[bethesda.net] new maps, weapons, a new demon and hack modules (and some other visual stuff), so you will get a split community with those that have these things, and those that doesn't have them. I don't think this is a good idea.

But that's multiplayer. Single-player is completely different.

Campaign

Here the game really shines. The single-player is worth the purchase price on its own. This is not a game with a deep story, with lots of interaction with characters in the game, it's not an open world. But not all games need to have these things, and to be great, it certainly does not need it.

What it is, is an action game with fantastic gun-play and enemies. The music is fantastic, I wish they sold this separately so I could buy it and play it outside of the game. When the action starts and the musics starts going as well, the adrenaline is rushing and everything is good.

The way you upgrade and modify the weapons is great, two mods for almost all weapons, so you basically get even more weapons, and I think a lot of people will find a way to use any gun in a way that they like. There are so many ways to play this due to this modification system. On top of this, if you keep glory killing (finishing the demons with melee kills when they're ready for it), you can keep getting health and armor, and if you use the chain gun, you get more ammo than you can use as well.

There are also some secrets on the maps, but you have a map you can use to keep track of where you are, where you have and haven't been, and it also find secrets (for the most part) for you, but it's not what the game is about, it's an additional thing you can do if you want to.

The graphics look amazing. The maps are so beautiful, you have great amazing vistas to look at, I have over 300 screenshots after one play through of the game. The weapons look great, they have great details, and the demons and effects are great too, though some of the design of the enemies are a bit weird (Pinky, Cacodemon), but they all play great, which is more important than the looks.

SnapMap

Oh, and SnapMap looks fun too, I've only done the tutorials and played a few of other people's maps, and there can be some great stuff there. There are some nice things now (played a map called parkour for over an hour, only one run, but hey, it was fun), but in time, more things will come, I'm sure. If you want to build maps and kinda make game modes that the game doesn't have, go ahead and try it, you will have fun.

Conclusion?

This is a very well made action single-player. Great fantastic action, go play it. I hope for a Doom 2, I want more of the story, and more action.

Small and fun game. Playing with a controller it's quite fun. But you need DS4Windows at least for the Sony DualShock 4 controller, otherwise the buttons are all messed up, they should fix that. Otherwise it's great, and the music is relaxing.

When the game first arrived in 1999, it was amazing to play with great music and atmosphere. Now it's equally as good, but with improved GUI (in Homeworld Remastered, using Homeworld 2 GUI) and the upgraded graphic effects and texture detail, it looks even more beautiful than before. Hours of playtime, well worth the price. Still one of the two-three best games I've ever played.

A true classic. Fun FPS gaming with great humor, good gameplay. Easy to learn (partly) and hard to master.
