Early Access Review
It's a good game to play with friends. Despite the additional almost fully D&D-like rules if you've played Divinity Original Sin 2, you'd fit right into how the game feels. If you're a fan of the original Baldur's Gate 1/2, then BG3 is quite a bit different than how the game plays in comparison (I cannot comment on how much of a difference as I have not played BG1/2), so temper your expectations and watch gameplay to see if you like the difference - I would say BG3 is more a "remake/spin-off" akin to the Mafia Remake, rather than an actual successor to BG1/2 in this sense. However, it is incomplete with a few scenes that have placeholders and whatnot, but the expectation is already set as it's an Early Access game. There are a few bugs within the multiplayer (which may exist in single player, but I have not played that) which range from inane to completely game breaking, but have been steadily been fixed with each hotfix.

I paid 80 dollars for this game, and I don't feel like it was a waste of money. I enjoyed what's in the game already and I'm excited to see what Larian/WOTC adds in next. Druids when.

Grim Dawn is a fantastic ARPG with easy-to-learn, hard-to-master game mechanics. The dual-class mode, augmented by the devotion system really brings a lot of variety to the builds that you can create. There are practically an infinite number of builds you can do that can really fit your playstyle. Be warned, this game restricts you to Normal for a reason; it can kick your ass at times... however, despite this the pacing is fantastic - it doesn't feel like a chore to go through a lot of the side quests and dungeons that are offered to you in the base game and personally, I recommend doing them as you get lots of good loot(tm) that later in the game (early-mid, mid game) helps you define what build you want for yourself. In terms of game mechanics, I kind of felt that the rep system was pretty grindy for some factions, especially Devil's Crossing but the rewards are very worth it.

The lore and interactions are also very in depth. There are lore entries that explore the universe that your character lives and fights in. There are also very minor side encounters that actually, to some extent influence some other interaction in the world. For instance, you can recruit characters that will show up later. Another example is you can influence an NPC reaction to either be hostile or friendly towards you.

The co-op in the game is fantastic, with only a few quests that gave my friend and I issues. For example, some quests that require some resources to hand in would only complete for the person who handed it in. Another example is when there are two warring factions, the host will determine the presence of which faction will appear. One faction will cease to talk to you if the host is on the opposite faction, so you have to do some of their missions solo.

There are a few issues I had with the game itself, notably some stuttering every now and again. This could apparently be fixed by disabling Steam saving, but I don't care enough to lose that feature so I left it on.

In all despite the minor issues I listed, I strongly recommend getting this game if you are a fan of Diablo, Path of Exile, Torchlight 1/2. Get it on sale or not, it is worth it either way and I can guarantee many hours of enjoyment from this game

Fantastic game supported by great developers. Fairly unoptimized on weaker/older systems (Had trouble maintaining 60 fps on my GTX 760 on Low but can run 60+ on my RX 480 on High-Ultra). Updates come in the form of free content + fairly priced DLC. Recommended to get with friends as running with bots on Hard/Nightmare can be fairly arduous and it's a co-op game through and through.

On "L4D clone": It's clear there is some basis to it as a "horde based kill fest" but it does enough to where it's justified as its own game. Easy to get into melee with a high skill ceiling (with a more heavy focus towards melee than L4D), RNG loot, contracts and such improve the replayability and separate Vermintide as its own game from other L4D clones and L4D itself.

Praise Sigmar.

Starship Troopers if it was a Japanese video game. Up to 4 player co-op. Bug shooting exhibition. Extremely painful missions that make you want to cry by the time you pass them on Hard or higher when you first do them.

Menu navigation needs some work (it's clear it was a port, the mouse is not a point but rather you move it to highlight menu elements depending on the direction you move it) and you can't mute your own microphone. Runs pretty nicely on my i7-4790/GTX 760 system. DLC isn't really worth it except for the mission packs when on sale.

Recommended to play with friends. Everyone needs to own the mission packs if you plan on doing those.

This is the authentic "make stupid sounds into your microphone with your friends" experience.

You should absolutely get this game if you like games such as Prison Architect or Dwarf Fortress; it plays as a mix between them. It is polished really well, has great mod support (steam workshop + standalone mods are supported), has lots of replayability and is backed by a passionate dev and his collaborators which the end product shows through this amazing game. However, the one gripe I have about the game is the mental health system which appears to have too many debuffs over buffs but for the most part it is a minor annoyance.
