didn't really get the SOTN vibes from this. more of a OOE+A/DOS game.

does this mean it's a bad metroidvania game? by no means. buy and play it.

good

The bad:

Short lived game. Lack of save points discourages extended exploring. Furthermore, potions are difficult to come by because they are tied to gold which is difficult to obtain. Slow character movement makes back tracking feel like a chore (I am aware of Speed Potions, but you can only buy them using gold.)

Uninteresting enemy designs, and some enemies are frustrating to fight i.e. Skeleton Knights in tight corridors. It keeps blocking and its difficult to get a hit on them.

Soundtrack and story are passable.

Certain spots which should have a save room nearby do not have them (see below.)

The good:

Getting a equipment item from a enemy was exciting, the art is fantastic and the controls are responsive and tight.

Improvements that can be made:

Boss rush mode, increases replay-ability.

Place a safe spot just before the Final Boss and Arena.

Have a artifact which gives super-speed instead of the potion.

A secret boss in hard mode would be nice.
