Some of my favorite lightsaber combat ever, very satisfying to play. As some put it, this game is like a mix between the new Tomb Raider games and a FromSoftware game, and they'd be right. The movement mechanics would fit in well with the moves of an archaeologist or a wisecracking treasure hunter, while combat would fit in nicely in an undead world or feudal Japan.

When you're not in combat, you're usually exploring or completing platforming challenges and puzzles, which will require a bit of thinking, and good use of your force powers and your trusty droid companion. Whatever you're doing, the fun experience that is swinging a lightsaber around will never get dull, much like the blade itself.

tl;dr, yes, EA actually made a GOOD Star Wars game somehow. No lootboxes, no microtransactions, just a solid Singleplayer experience and an ACTUAL sense of progression. Weird, right?

Fast, satisfying, and with a high skill ceiling. After my first playthrough, I went through again without using slow-motion, and I loved every second I spent dying. Katana ZERO adopts the Super Meat Boy, Celeste and Hotline Miami approach to difficulty, where you're presented with a challenge, and you can throw yourself at it infinitely, with little to no delay between attempts, making it an addictive gameplay loop that'll surely make you feel like a badass when you finally get the perfect run through a room.

A Hat in Time, in one word, can be summed up as...

Fun.

That's the name of the game here. The game is damn fun. It frequently changes things up while still staying in the same genre. Plenty have gone in more detail than I have and they've done a much better at describing the genius of this game's design than I ever could. So, all I can really do is keep things short and concise.

The game's fun, the controls are tight and it's damn well worth the asking price. That simple.
