I cannot recommend this game enough. The campaign was great, it may not be the longest, but every location and set piece looks distinctly 40K. That is, highly exaggerated and ridiculous, and totally, in the truest sense of the word, awesome. I found myself stopping just to look around and take everything in at least twice in every location, not to mention you can have two friends join you in Titus' continued story. As for the operations mode, and the new horde mode, (repeatable pve modes.) The maps in these modes have that same awe factor, and provide a nice way to keep playing the game after the campaign is done. This mode has been getting consistent updates in the form of new maps, customization parts, paints, weapons, weapon skins, balancing, difficulties, enemies, decals, and now a new class entirely is on it's way.

I may not have the most objective view, I looked forward to this game every moment of every day since it was announced, and I have a major soft spot for the first space marine. All that said, yeah I really like this game.

This is without a doubt the fastest I've ever fallen in love with a game. This game is rated overwhelmingly positive for a reason. Visual style, gameplay, music, personality, performance, animations, effects, sound; every element excels.

Play. It. Now.
And bring a friend.

Something that I found charming, there are several weapons that appear be not-so-subtle references to other games, so be on the lookout for that.

Fun gameplay loop, banger soundtrack, enemies that are satisfying to dispatch, great customization, great sense of humor, and an appealing visual style to top it all off.

Strong recommendation. It's like the child of Mad Max and Wolfenstein, with DOOM being the influential uncle.

I see people calling it boring, empty, or buggy. Of course I've seen hints of all of these things while playing it, but none of the whiffs of mediocrity I found came close to making me put the game down. Given my opening comment the gunplay in this game is supreme, I found myself REGULARLY using every weapon at my disposal. I never felt that one was obviously better than the rest. The mobility makes you feel agile and skilled, while not making you seem completely ridiculous. As for the items "hidden" in each location, after looting nearly every location in the game, I found that no items were really hidden in stupid or hard to reach places, but rather in easily missed places that won't have you angry at the game, but rather angry at yourself for walking literally on top of them 20 times. and finally, the explosions. My god the explosions. They do not get old, beautifully rendered, lit, and the sound is gratifying but not overwhelming. My personal favorite explosions are the ones attached to blowing up convoy trucks.

It must be said I haven't played the first game so take this as a standalone review.

I went into this game WANTING to hate it because I'd heard bad things about it, but I honestly have no idea why people don't like this game. Again, strong recommendation.

This game is fantastic, the pixelated-ish visuals add to the experience in a way I can't even explain, it just feels correct. Fast moving and rewarding action. My personal favorite weapon would have to be the star of torment, nothing beats the sound it makes when you pin a beheaded enemy to the wall with tens of crystal shards. The levels are engaging and challenging, while not being rage inducing. As is with most games of this sort, story is not forced upon you and focuses more on the action, which is to say, cutting armored spirits in half with waves of green energy. Then there's the sound design, everything the player does sounds earned, whether it's accidentally hitting a wall with the base weapon or vaporizing an entire room with an electric trident. Now uh, I need to get back to it, the AE logo on my desktop is calling me.

This is the kind of game you intend on playing for an hour then play for a whole day.
